Businessman Donald Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz are in a virtual tie in Iowa where the primary season kicks off next Monday at the caucuses.

A Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday found 31 percent of likely GOP caucus goers in Iowa back Trump, a few points ahead of Cruz, who received 29 percent support.

The poll found 13 percent back Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and no other GOP presidential candidate received more than 7 percent support. These results are unchanged from the last poll conducted in mid-January.

The Quinnipiac survey polled 651 likely Republican caucus goers between Jan. 18 and 24 with a 3.8 percentage point margin of error.

Now the desperation seen in Trump’s attacks on Cruz’s birth and finances is making more sense. Trump’s internal polling much have been similar.

I hear Trump is polling very well in Russia and Cuba. He supports Obama’s opening up to communist Cuba. And we know how highly he thinks of KGB Putin.

“It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond”

“I think it’s fine. I think it’s fine, but we should have made a better deal”...
“The concept of opening with Cuba is fine.”

According to Merriam-Webster the origin of the word TRUMP is TRIUMPH.

Which Russia will almost certainly do (over us and our allies) with Donald Trump in charge. He either doesn't 'get' Russia's broader agenda or he is in cahoots with his pal Putin on it.

Congratulations, you finally made my decision for me. If Ted Cruz is the Republican nominee, due to people like you supporting him and insulting people in his name, I will NEVER vote for him. You lost my vote. I will sit out the election.

All other polls vs a couple of weeks to a month ago show modest to large gains for Trump. Q had this exact result two weeks ago and Trump +1 from a month ago. Q is having cognitive dissonance. At least they have shrunk the gender gap from 2-1 to 3-2.

If Cruz doesn't take Iowa by fifteen or twenty points it's no better than a loss.

Did you hear what Putin said about Cruz?

Nothing. Nobody knows who Cruz is. He doesn’t carry any weight, and has no one’s respect.

Good morning.

I hope you are doing well.

Methinks if Cruz doesn't win Iowa, Trump will run the table.

Yesterday, the polls were useless because Trump was far ahead. Today, that poll has suddenly achieved accuracy because someone prefers the numbers.
