Parents are complaining about a “lesson on racism†for first grade students at Minneola Elementary Charter School the day after the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday in which the teacher segregated her 7- and 8-year-old student by eye color then discriminated against some for several hours.
The teacher, who was not named in media reports, gave students with blue eyes candy and hugs, and ignored students with brown eyes, according to WFTV.

Let’s let this sink in and question the motives of the teacher. This is more a lesson in “how to be racist” than in how to solve bigotry.

I can understand a 7th or 8th grade civics teacher using this as a teaching tool on racism. I cant understand a first or second grade teacher using this to teach about racism. seven and eight year olds are not cognitively ready or emotionally ready for something like this. I think racism should be talked about at a young age but at seven and eight there should not be very much time spent on it and the most I would do as a teacher of seven and eight year olds is maybe read Dr.Seuss book on the subject.
The government takes your money to provide “free” education for the kids. The government knows, ever since hitler’s youth training, that it can shape minds by getting ahold of the kids at a young age, and make them lose the moral code they learned from their parents and church.
There is so much fallacy regarding discrimination. In real life discrimination is the product of experience and people playing their odds.
Trying to combat it by denying reality only exacerbates it.
The teacher from Iowa that did this same guerrilla theatre quack teacher got invited to the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. It bothered her so much that her class was all white. She just had to bring race into it. She was sick and so is the nation that permits this.
So, what subjects were being ignored in school that day because this loon wanted to waste her students’ time on this nonsense?
I’m against this new wave in education about ‘teaching’ about segregation by actually performing segregation.
They should teach Unity, by emphasizing and practicing unity.
