Regrouping
JANUARY 22, 2016 ~ CONSISTENTCONSERVATIVES
This is an emergency means for us to keep in touch with our FRiends, who are real Conservatives, in case of purging. Or, if there is no purging, do we really want to continue our discussions in the forum where the owner despises us for not supporting his non-Conservative candidate?
My purpose is to figure out what to do to continue our discussions to advance Conservatism.
TOPICS: Breaking News; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: betacons; conservatives; consistent; cruz; cruzorlose; ctruz; cuckservatives; elections; freepers; freepers4trump; freerepublic; nrcons; trump

I completely agree EEE. On top of that, Trump having never held political office is a complete outsider to the political establishment. There are many that are willing to take a chance on Trump due to his push of the major issues and being an outsider.

Are they or are they not planning to scamper off because they can’t force the rest of us to think like them? Basically they want to take their balls and run off to another park. Pun unintended but if the shoe fits.
They can’t handle opposing views. That’s not what this place is about. But whatever. Every election we have groups threaten to run away from home. But they’ll be back. I admit their whining was beginning to get annoying.
Yes I would vote for CRuz if push came to shove. But would they vote for Trump in the opposite scenario? Nooooo, they are just too pure for us mere mortals.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
You're absolutely right. Trump busted the commie PC media blackout of the issues that we have all been suffering from out here, which our elected representatives have chosen to ignore (or worsen) legislatively while giving lip service to us for our votes. I think that is the main reservation regarding Trump; he has publicly espoused contrary views so many of us don't trust him at his word.
But if he's the Republican nominee I will absolutely vote for him. If he actually does then what he now says he will, yes he could not only help America make itself great again, but could be one of the greatest American presidents simply by taking out the Republican establishment and the media fifth column.
But that's the gamble. We in The People's Republic of Kalifornia got burned by Arnold the same way.

We seem to go through these melt-downs every couple of years Jim. People get wound a bit too tightly and away they go.
As FReepers we need to keep some perspective.
Advocate for your person, but don’t embarrass the hell out of them by how you do it. We all have our core beliefs, and even though we want the same end results, sometimes we differ on how to get there.
There’s no reason for us to be at each others throats.
Some of the comments to “the OTHER side’s” believers have been over the top this election season.
Neither Cruz or Trump’s supporters are flawed Conservatives. We are looking to turn this nation around, and some aspects of both men offer hope.
Argue your case and leave it at that. No need to reference the other candidate’s supporters as Nazis, victims of male on male rape, or Godless idiots. We all have reasons for our support. Some of the reasons we support either candidate are sound. It may not seem like it to others, but it’s true.
We need to back off a bit, calm down, and give reasoned support to the person we think can do the best job. Respect those who disagree.
If we all agreed, there would be no need for elections.

I'm a Cruzer that is OK with Trump and I received one of these "underground" messages. I wished them well on their journey, and instead of donating to Cruz today, I'll send that bit of money to the Freepathon, much as I hate this method of raising money.
Thanks Jim, Go Cruz, Go Trump.

I support you Jim.
Just perusing the "consistent conservative" posters. It seems that "consistent conservative" to these folks is drowning out every other voice that is different.
You did the right thing and there was a core group a few weeks ago that took over the board. What I mean by that is they intentionally multi-posted the same articles, trolled the trump threads and cut and pasted nonstop memes to every thread.
This had the effect of pushing all news off of the front page. One reason I enjoy FR is being able to peruse the latest world news and breaking news with my morning cup of coffee.
When I see Zombie accounts reanimating, I know something is very wrong.
When I see sleeper accounts coming to life repeating the same memes, I know something is wrong.
When I know of at least two Cruz bundlers on this boarded promoting their candidate and spamming, I know something is wrong.
When I see posters posting non-stop for over 24 hours and taking holidays off, I know something is wrong.
When I see the same core of posters posting the same memes that have been proven wrong, over and over again, I know something is wrong.
You did the right thing and it immediately started bring back some sanity.
All it took was 14 very bad apples a couple of weeks ago to turn this place upside down.
I thank you for what you did. I understand what you are saying, and personally will vote for Cruz if he is the nomination. Over and over it is the perfect that is the enemy of the good with these people. Liberals will always beat "Consistent Conservatives" who take their marbles and head home if they don't get what they want. Liberals keep trudging along with their agenda, even if they can't get their best candidate in.
Who is smarter? A "consistent conservative" or a liberal. We have seen it over and over again. "Consistent Conservatives" throw the elections to evil people. They pat themselves on the back for their purity while the mature conservatives suffer.
If these people can't even vote to stop the US decline and push a few conservative principals per election, then they are not conservatives.
Finally, it is your place Jim. You have done a darn good job over the years. You can't please all the people all of the time. You especially can't please the impossible ones. They have their own agenda that is contrary to Free Republic.
After that rant, I'm heading over to make another donation to FR. I kindly request others do the same.
Thanks for the great place called Free Republic.

The majority of them are “scampering” off because they were banned for saying they would never vote for liberal Trump OR they were suspended for returning personal attacks from Tumpers with personal attacks of their own.
I do not condone personal attacks for either side. I’ve made this clear to Cruz folks as well as Trump.
When you think about it, it is the height of hypocrisy to lambast (for example) Kentucky voters for putting Mitch back in power but then demand that we vote for whom-ever the Republican nominee is.
Perhaps instead of banning proven conservative members who refuse to vote for Trump, the Trump camp could learn from them? As I pointed out elsewhere, today, 60% unfavorable ratings make it very hard to win a nomination, especially at a brokered convention.

Must say, I'm mildly offended. I happen to be an excellent grumbler.

I can answer that question if Cruz is the nominee will most certainly vote for him, Cruz supporters would NEVER do the same for Trump!!

Are they confused? I saw specifically on the ‘let’s be civil’ thread where you said you prefer Cruz.
(caveat: Not saying I agree Trump is not conservative-his policies are more conservative than anyone else)
To: brothers4thID
We have nothing to learn from you. Your post is why people do not wish to support your cause.
Perhaps you have a few things to learn too. No?
You a proven conservative? How? I don’t even know you.

Which is why I was so disgusted about the NR fiasco. I WON’T be intimidated and told how to vote. Thet’s straight-up Communist/union thug tactics to me. Screw that.
