CATAWBA, N.C. (WBTV) - A good Samaritan, who stopped to help a driver who spun out on ice, was fatally shot by the driver in Catawba County.
According to the Catawba County Sheriff, a driver spun out on ice along Mathis Church Road Friday night. Neighbors who overheard the wreck, went out to check on the incident.
The driver of a truck came up on the incident and pulled over the help the driver, later identified as 27-year-old Marvin Jacob Lee, of Claremont.
According to the sheriff, Lee was acting odd and belligerent. The neighbors and good Samaritan were talking about calling police when Lee apparently overheard them, jumped out of the car and shot the good Samaritan.
When the good Samaritan fell to the ground, Lee fired several more shots. According to the Sheriff, the good Samaritan died from the injuries.
When deputies arrived at the scene, Lee reportedly refused to get out of the car.
An armored car was called to the scene and deputies had to approach the vehicle with shields before Lee would get out of the car.
When he was taken into custody, the sheriff says Lee still had the pistol on him.
Lee was arrested and charged with murder. The name of the good Samaritan has not been released.
That's insane! You ever live out in the country, on a farm or ranch? Who the hell is going to defend you if some thugs or tweakers want to make you a target?
One might consider the poor taxpayer and omit the trial.
Agg assault with a deadly weapon. There’s supposed to be a defense to prosecution for being on your property, but the grand jury indicted me anyway and I’d be flipping a coin on a friendly jury if I took it to trial. It was a nightmare.

Suburb of Dallas, they wanted to make an example out of me since I used an AK and this city is ‘uppity’ and doesn’t want any of that stuff going on. Basically, I got screwed hard. $10k fine too, maxed.
Sounds like there is a little more to the story here but then I’ve seen some malicious prosecutions in my time too.
But I’ll take my chances and stay armed (if I hadn’t of lost everything in that accident on Lake Mead)

Sure are some strange shootings going on lately. Yesterday it was the firefighter killed by a guy having a seizure. Victim came out of the seizure, thought the firefighter giving him aid was an intruder and shot him.

It was just me, they were shining lights in my place and screaming at me to come out. 45 minutes earlier I had yelled at them to stop smoking pot because the smell came into my house. (yelled from my property) To me, 45 minutes is a ‘break off’ period so they didn’t have a right to come back and get on my yard and threaten me.
