Two big rallys today in Iowa that I thought we'd keep on one thread.
These two places are similar. They are both very small and of Dutch Heritage. Dutch is spoken here. The religion is mainly Protestant.
Hmmm. Now which candidate brags about being Protestant?
In short, Trump is in friendly territory.
The first is in Sioux Center, IA @ 11:00 am (CST)@ Dordt College - BJ Haan Auditorium
The second will be Pella, IA @ 2:30 pm (CST) @ Central College - Douwstra Auditorium
If Donald Trump is elected our next president, this day in these two little Iowan towns will be remembered for a long long time.
Wonder who he is attending church with in the morning Wouldn’t it be a thrill to walk in and share a message, prayers and hymns with DJT. A memory for a lifetime.
Just left a great event in Pella. Going to church tomorrow in Muscatine, Iowa.
6:36pm - 23 Jan 16
Churches in Muscatine will be full tomorrow!
Pass the plate !
Thanks for posting these threads. Unfortunately, it’s very difficult for me to watch the speeches as I keep getting buffering. Just got a new modem from Comcast, so I’m hoping that helps. At any rate, I do enjoy reading the threads.
I heard earlier on CSPAN 1 when flipping channels that they will show a Donald Trump rally at 1 pm Eastern tomorrow - not sure if it’s one or both of these or something different, but I’ll definitely be tuning in a 10 am my time!!
Best,
SC
Not sure about the rest, but I’d say that WA is very iffy. The eastern part of the state has a good Pubbie population (they were considering creating their own, separate state a few years ago); however, the libs are in the higher population areas in the I-5 corridor: Olympia, Tacoma, Seattle and Everett. Some of the Seattle burbs (like where I live lean Pubbie, though I would address most of the population not super conservative (unlike me - LOL!).
OR and CA are probably very iffy, too. Like some of the southwestern states, OR and WA have had years of CA libs moving in for years. We’ve also had a lot of libs moving in from the northeast. Wish the CA drivers would learn how to drive in rain - and forget when we have snow - they think just because they have a 4-wheel drive they can just speed along, forgetting that we have a lot of hilly streets with ice under the snow (sorry, got off on a bit of a tangent there). No offense to any FReepers from CA.
Snow day bump!
Heard the bit about the National Review in the second speech. Is there a link to the letter by Doug Ibendahl somewhere on FR?
Trump was so full of energy today. He is feeling something very powerful. Is the Lord raising him up with His mighty right arm? We will see.
It is disrespectful to people to dress down. Unless maybe you are a real character, like a folk singer or something. When people do that, they are trying to say “I’m just an ordinary schmuck like you,” but people don’t think they’re ordinary schmucks.
Never mind. It was on FR yesterday and I read it then. Just didn’t realize it was the same piece.
He probably got it off of FR.
;-)
Ha! Watching the repeat, went out today. Lol ,I’m at the part where he said Beck is such a sad sack,he’s always crying.
Speak of the sad Sack Beck,he’s on C-span now rally for Cruz. blah
Hey Jane Long!
2 p.m. Denver time makes it a 3 p.m. start time for Iowa, not sure how that works for you.
My daughter & husband (expecting their 1st child in March), and my son and his wife (expecting their 1st child in July) drove out to Denver for the game. All are intense Patriot fans. Probably the last time we will see a Brady/Manning matchup ... along with the last time they will be able to do things like this on a whim ... LOL
It gonna be Yuge :)
Hi Hoosiermama!
I missed that announcement! What a special day for that Congregation!
It could be this church, the only Presbyterian Church I find listed in Muscatine ...
Thanks for sharing that!
222 members
Probably 100+ in attendance.
On historic registrar
Nice community church.
I know they watch us. And Facebook too. They pick up lines, and advice, and ideas. A really first-rate operation.
No. 10, I suspect, would be least likely of these!
really???
staten island six foot wall of snow on the corner
3 ft every where else.
when i drop tomorrow at my weight there’ll be one less FReeper lol
Good night! I recall we had one exactly like that quite a while back - every corner had eight foot high plow piles for about six weeks. Had to dodge traffic to get to back up onto the sidewalks. We don’t get many like that thank goodness.
My oldest boy was a paper delivery boy back then - didn’t miss a customer. Ah, memories.
I sent them the tbreas the other night during Palins flight from Alaska and invited the campaign to watch us watching them with a Go Palin Go Trump attached.
its so nice to know that communication is flowing just like at the rallies
