Dear Northeast Freepers:
Please check-in to let us know that you're safe. If you want to share your blizzard experiences- whether funny or scary - we're listening. If you need something, please say so. Maybe we can help or get word to someone who can.

As of 4:20 PM, 20 inches of snow has fallen in my Brooklyn Heights backyard.
The furnace has not been working well, so I’m freezing but otherwise all right here in South-NJ.
Shoveled only halves this afternoon - half the driveway, half the steps, half the sidewalk. That’s it for me.
The wind is howling.
Luckily, there’s some wood for a fire tonight.
Hope everyone else is all right.
Stay safe!
Thanks. I will. Same to you and yours!
Blizzard warnigs now up in Cape Cod and SE Mass. Just like the energizer bunny. Keeps going. Harrisburg International Airport claims 23 inches. 3 rd worse storm ever and will probably end up being their worse blizard in history.
They upped snowfall predictions again. Parts of New York city could see 24 to 30 inches.
Ca-rap!!! Now I’m stating to get worried :-/
Thanks for the update.
I used that same characterization today. Still getting pounded in the DC suburbs. On and on and on...
Just think, if they named this storm Jeb instead of Jonas, all we’d have is a dusting of snow and the storm would be out to sea by now. Would have been a low-energy storm.
Its been snowing in central va for over 24 hours.
But it might not move very fast; ‘Joyful turtle’.
Top snow amount in Virginia now 39 inches in Philomont. Also first time in history that same storm reached 18 inches in DC and New York City. Jonas is a beast.
Make it stop!
Interesting post. I think it’s ridiculous to name these snow storms as well. Everything is sensationalized or perhaps the NWS is naming all storms that meet a criteria as a reference.
All fine in NYC!
A beautiful sunset, too.
Did you see it?
Is it just me or does the storm seem to have stalled?
I’m looking at the radar here and while I see rotation within the storm, it seems to be going nowhere fast.
Yeah, stay safe TOT; Prayers with you
Yes, some of it. It was gratifying to see sunset light still visible at 1735 hours. Days are getting a bit longer already.
