I am convinced this is true.
The full moon tonight sure is bringing out the crazies on cable — covering a blizzard wall-to-wall as if it were an impending asteroid strike.
All the ladies in Germany better be careful because the filthy islamic Muslim rapists will all be out tonight!
It is beating the heck out of the East Coast Right Now.
‘The sea was angry my friends’
I worked in emergency medical services for many years and both ER nurses and paramedics often said that the full moon brought out the strangest cases. In my own experience cardiac arrest calls seemed to go in threes. If you had a cardiac arrest call you could generally expect two more within 48 hours. I vividly remember one weekend when I ran two CPR calls back to back followed by a third call that night.
My cousin is a dispatcher for the Sheriff’s department in my county. The full moon theory is definitely true. All the loons come out to play.
I’ve read that the word Lunatic comes from the word for Luna, the moon.

Yes, and also lunacy.
BTW the word sinister comes from the Latin word for left handed.

Back in the eighties when I was in France, I had policemen friends. On the eve of the full moon they would round up and lock up the known local “lunatics” just so they could focus on their jobs.
I have friends who are “Corrections Officers”; they swear there is all sorts of bizarre inmate behavior on the nights with full moons.
When I was a kid, a stolen car crashed into a phone pole in the middle of the night, in front of Grandma’s house, while we were there. Took the cops about 45 minutes to respond. The first one on the scene explained to my Dad “Full moon tonight, we’re always backed up, with calls, when that happens”.
Having said that, one of my most memorable nights as a Military Police officer was 10/31/97 which was not only a full moon, but also Halloween and a pay day weekend.
Total bullshit. Confirmation bias.
Evening Star, you always have these great SoCal photos!
Yep, it’s easier to move around at night when there’s a full moon. Since I walk my dog in an unlit park at night, I’ve taken to looking up moonrise and set times for the particular passes of the moon. It makes a real difference.
So, for those who are out and about and up to no good, more light = more opportunities for mischief.
The photos frequently come from the articles, as with this one. I copy the photo from the article, resize it, upload to a file hosting site, and link from there.
Thanks for the link!!!
Saw this at the site.
“Earlier it was a term for a type of hairstyle worn over the forehead (1877).”
Do not know to whom it would apply? :)
