Real-estate mogul Donald Trump got some great news Thursday afternoon in the form of a new CNN/ORC poll showing him pulling ahead in Iowa.
That survey showed him leading his top rival, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), 37% to 26%, among likely Iowa caucus-goers.
But the CNN poll was apparently too recent for Trump to tout at a Thursday rally in Las Vegas, Nevada. Instead, Trump boasted about his results in another recent Iowa poll, from Emerson College, that found him beating Cruz 33% to 23%.

Safer to go with the averages. They put Trump ahead, and these 2 polls would indicate it is outside the MOE now. IOW, it’s a real lead.

The Cruz boys are going to need need a new set of kitchen knives to slice and dice these latest results. It was easy to see that Ted’s BIG NY stumble would hurt him…plus an angry Mama Grizzly is on board too. GO TRUMP>>>WIN IOWA!!!!

Trump’s lead in this poll was +13 the last time it was conducted. Now it’s only +11. Cruz is gaining momentum in Iowa AND New Hampshire. Palin’s endorsement will backfire, as it has energized Cruz’s base even more and gotten people like Glenn Beck to campaign with him. You may hate Beck, but he has far more sway than Palin.

I didn’t think that Establishment support would help Trump.

For running a campaign full of lies?

When Trump goes on to secure your borders, and defeat ISIS, Iran, N. Korea, etc. I don’t want him to be a gracious winner — I want him to dance, whoop it up, and gloat like crazy. Mainly, I just want him to be a winner.
Trump also knows that a “good loser” is, first and foremost, a loser.
Speaking for the rest of the civilized world (why not? everyone else seems to think they can) Trump is who we need in the Oval Office.

If Cruz’s base being energized depends on hating Palin and embracing Beck, then you might as well pack it in.
As Rush says all the time - MSM produce polls to drive/create an outcome/narrative, not to report on one.
If you look at all three Iowa polls released today, you have to say one or two is/are an outlier(s), or that no conclusion can be made. I wouldn’t bet on anything - in terms of what the actual situation is on the ground.
Questions that comes to my mind when considering these polls:
What’s changed? Palin? Would that really produce such a huge change this quickly?
Impact of last debate? No clear winner seemed to come out of it.
I almost, and I’m saying almost want him to bang some bongo drums
while smoking a cigar when he wins.
I expected this...
