UPSTATE SOCIAL CONSERVATIVE CITES IMMIGRATION ISSUE
Michelle Wiles â one of the Palmetto Stateâs most influential conservative activists â is leaving the South Carolina leadership team of Ted Cruz and joining the campaign of Donald Trump, sources close to both campaigns told us this week.
The Upstate social conservative â widely known and respected in evangelical circles â had been one of Cruzâs most articulate, well-connected South Carolina supporters.
Now her support will go to âThe Donald.â
If this scenario sounds familiar, it should â¦
This isnât the first time an influential female Cruz supporter has gone over to Trumpâs team ⦠and it may not be the last.

The one in Dallas Texas.
The two in NYC were somehow involved in the death of a young man a week or so after Ted had been to beg for a donation.
Is it all about money? I wonder how much Glenn Beck paid to have a rally for Ted?
But even if we weren't, I do try to be civil, unless I am attacked first, or a post is incorrect. I have a difficult time ignoring mendacious or incorrect posts. ;^)
No, Ted can’t, but Trump can.
You didn’t give a link to Bloomberg News. You cited a PBS thing & didn’t provide a link to that either. I addressed the quoted information in the post you cited. It was all over the map- the book (published in 2000), changing his mind in 2011. . .
Listen- if you think America will ever support an absolute end to abortion without those exceptions, I wish you luck. I really do.
Ask Israel about the effectiveness of a wall. You glossed over Cruz’s position.
Why yes, amnesty IS amnesty. But as long as Ted Cruz doesn’t call it ‘amnesty’, everything is A-OK. (NOT)
ROFL You cannot possibly think that, in my wildest dreams, could I imagine that I might ‘sway’ a Cruz supporter. I KNOW better!
Is that what y’all are trying to do- ‘sway’ us? Cause that’s just plain delusional.
In politics you call it slime....but that’s fine.
It’s to be expected....so there is the tit, so expect the following tat. That’s how you respond to that game.
Well isn’t there all kinds of connections ( Mercer, etc. ) with Glenn and PACS and people who work on Ted’s run ?
Nobody dug in will be swayed....
I am dug in and was dug in before ted announced.
I personally am difficulties dealing with this Trumpmania. But I don’t expect to fix it. But I can tell you one thing. I was prepared at one time to vote for trump if he got the nomination. I was willing to give him the benefit of a doubt. But I can’t do that anymore.
IMO, nothing has been gained by the slime from the trump camp. Nothing has been gained by attacking Levin or Limbaugh or anyone else who has said something nice about Cruz.
Now, Levin, who was totally fine with a trump vote, is totally PO’d as the result of a attempt to slime him. Now he knows how I feel.
I am sure there will be plenty of libs to make up for my one lost vote and those of others, but if it keeps up, I don’t know who will win this election in November.
Please, spare us your indignation. This was all discussed and laid out on the square in another thread.
Cruz's amendment was a parliamentary ploy that unmasked what the 'Rats really wanted with their G8 "compromise" legislation. Cruz gave them what they said they wanted in his amendment -- only without citizenship. The 'Rats immediately turned around and blew chunks on it, whereby Cruz proved that what they really wanted was citizenship right NOW for millions and millions of illegals.
Cruz was not trying to sell out America or U.S. citizenship with his amendment; he was wrestling with the 'Rats to expose their core issue, which they'd kept hidden. The offer of the amendment scored a fall, exposed the 'Rats politically and ended that particular push to score citizenship for their millions of border-jumpers.
You blurt that out as a throwaway line, but as a matter of fact, the Israelis enjoy much better security, estimable as some number of not-dead Israeli Jews, behind their wall than if there were no wall and intifada-waging Palestinian suicide-bombers and raiders were able to access Jewish neighborhoods at will.
Yes, Israel's wall works as intended, to choke off terror raids.
True. And it goes both ways. The difference is that rather than being turned away from Cruz by the vitriol of his supporters (though I imagine some probably have been), he hasn’t held up well to scrutiny,
People are going to vote for who they’re going to vote for. That’s normal. All of this nastiness was & is completely pointless- just venting & recrimination.
Unnecessary.
Maybe not you, personally, Cold Heat, but as a general rule- Cruz supporters love to dish it out, but they can’t take it when someone fights back. Typical bullies.
More evidence indicting "gender equality" .... and giving women the franchise. They keep voting their emotions, which isn't a survivable activity in a world possessing thermonuclear weapons and zero morals.
I have the same concerns. Whichever candidate wins will disappoint us. Anyone who thinks otherwise isn’t being realistic. Which one is less likely to be swayed by the Democrats and the media?
Yes, yes. We’ve heard all of Cruz’s excuses & rationalizations. He’s kinda like the little boy who cries wolf, but with the twist that things never quite turn out the way he ‘’meant’’ for them to.
Sorry. Not buying.
Isn't that always the e-GOP death-message to Main Street Republicans?
"Your guy can't win, only our guy can win, we have to win the moderates; GIVE UUUPPP, GIVE UUUUP!" </off giant voice>
As if Ronald Reagan never lived.
Oh. Well, in that case, does it matter what Cruz did or didn't do? Is it like that?
Uhhh....That's not scrutiny. It's about 60% slander and the rest is intentional shaping of the facts, (or blatant exaggeration and omission)
Ted has a long record compared to Trump in politics, and there are reams of quotes and documents.
Trump has books that he wrote that say he is this or that. He has his campaign produced position papers, and sprinkled in and among these created positions are his real thoughts in some unguarded recordings which it totally dismissed by his fans. He is just now beginning to create a real record and one of the first entry's in that record is major support for crony capitalist ethanol.
I guess I see something that some don't, but then I purposely proclaimed before announcements that I would vote for a conservative this election, or not vote at all.
And I meant every word of it.
It’s not a throwaway line. It’s the truth. We could- & SHOULD, learn a lot from Israel. Wrt the wall, travel, & school safety. But Trump is right. Our leaders are too stupid.
It won’t be long before America, too, could have a taste of jihadis coming across our southern border. We’re experiencing more than a few deaths as a result of ordinary border ‘’traffic’’ already. And rapes, pedophilia, murders, & burglaries. Terrorists would only add to that. (No. I am NOT equating our problems here with those that threaten Israel- not by a LONG shot. But dead is dead.)
WE would like to choke off drug & human trafficking (including sex workers), guns, & draining our economy by illegal invaders. The trouble is certain constituencies who want cheap labor. And those constituencies happen to contribute greatly to political candidates- all but one.
Keep putting your priorities in the wrong place. We’ll be having terror raids sooner than you think.
(It’s always amusing to see the way y’all use the ‘tag team’ method to make your arguments. I guess the shift changed. OFA much?)
I’ve seen enough. No. It doesn’t.
