Stating flatly, "Dead white guys did not create this country," an executive in the American school textbook industry has confirmed that Common Core pushes an elitist, progressive agenda of global warming, gun control and prostitution on Americaâs children. The undercover video is from investigative reporter James OâKeefe of Project Veritas. It reveals the comments and opinions of Kimberly Koerber, a former manager for Pearson, the nation's leading textbook publishing company. She now works for National Geographic, another publisher. O'Keefe reported her statements to Project Veritas journalists included, "Damn the Second Amendment", and, "People that are not educated, Fox TV viewers, think that Common Core comes from the educated liberal groups and that's why they are against it. They don't know anything about it."
Common Core has been a flashpoint for conservatives for years, and some states actually have started backing away from its Washington-mandated social viewpoints. This year, an election year, it's getting even more attention, with GOP frontrunner Donald Trump warning, "Nobody can win when you're in favor of Common Core. Itâs a disaster." Sen. Ted Cruz joined in, "I'l tell you this, as president I will instruct the Department of Education to end Common Core on day one." And from Sen. Rick Santorum came, "The real issues for Common Core is the elites in our culture who want to indoctrinate our young people into a certain way to think, a certain belief structure, and itâs all spread out through Common Core." The solution is for conservatives to become actively involved at the local and state levels. Join, get appointed, get elected. It’s what the left does, and it’s why they’re winning.
Neither Trump nor Cruz nor anybody else in DC will fix it for us, it’s our responsibility. But all we do is sit around and b!tch.
We need to understand that we are being controlled by committees and nonprofits which operate in the shadows, formulating agendas that are then imposed upon the rest of us, entirely outside of the law.
Often, these committees have no oversight by state legislators, yet the committees serve as springboards to powerful state elective offices, which are STILL below the radar of the average citizen.
The career of Oregon’s Brad Avakian—harasser of the Christian cake bakers—is an excellent example.
Recently I attended a talk by a state senator. The question of school textbooks was raised. Specifically, the Common Core and the LGBT-agenda in sex education.
The senator stated he didn’t know anything about any of that, and he was “glad” he didn’t have any interaction with the textbook committees, because “the issue is so contentious.”
Duly noted, and unacceptable. And it ticked me off enough to get me involved in making phone calls, writing letters, and shining a light on what’s going on behind the scenes.
State legislators who are unwilling to fight for sanity in our schools are unworthy of our vote. We need to hold their feet to the fire, make them do right, or unseat them.
States rights—that’s the ticket. DC isn’t going to give us back our rights. We need to take our rights. Think nationally but act locally.
Nicely done!
Oddly enough, there’s very little that dead people ‘create’.
