The researchers report, "Conservatives are indeed more dogmatic on the religious domain; but liberals are more dogmatic on the environmental domain." In fact, they note that "the highest score for simplicity was for liberals"

Mumbo-jumbo?! I think that it's quite lucid. It means: With regards to religious matters, Conservatives are more dogmatic (i.e., more inflexible, less open to reconsider their positions, less able to check their premises). But with regard to environmental issues, Liberals are more dogmatic.

There! Satisfied?

Regards,

Nahhhh, it's even simpler than that .... the formula is: tax the rich, tax the poor, tax everyone, kill all the unborn babies, believe me instead of your lyin' eyes ... this has been tried many times without success, but *this* time it'll work !! Trust us.

Liberals read bumper sticker and think in terms of bumper stickers. Sometimes they will even read a whole bumper sticker before bed and they like to tuck their children in with a reading from a bumper sticker. They also like comic books, but don't usually finish them because they can get tedious.

Conservatives read books that do not even have pictures to color in. The books they choose most often have chapters and usually hundreds of pages. The book's topics range from architecture to zoology with many tomes on philosophy, history and religion.

Liberals read books too, like Fifty shades of Grey and Where's Waldo

It is almost a truism among psychological researchers that conservatives are simple-minded and dogmatic. Liberals, meanwhile, are supposed to be more complex and open-minded thinkers. But a new paper is calling those conclusions into question.

A truism formulated by liberal psychological researchers, no doubt.

Conway and his colleagues conclude, "It may be that liberals are, as many have claimed...pulled towards complexity more than conservatives..."

LOL. In other words, liberals like to complicate and muck up the simplest of things, which is no surprise.

“Conservatives are indeed more dogmatic on the religious domain”

I disagree. Liberalism itself is a religion.

Conway and his colleagues conclude, "It may be that liberals are, as many have claimed ... pulled towards complexity more than conservatives ...," but there's no real evidence of that.

Unless you consider that rejecting facts and evidence because you deeply feeeeeel that the opposite must be correct is evidence of "intellectual complexity."

The notion that liberals are more open to complexity has always been a total crock. Just look at economics where they favor the brute force of government planning and control. Their solution to everything is government, which is simple. Conservatives emphasize liberty and the individual, which guarantees complexity and innovation, because free people are complex and innovative.
