RUSH: Greencastle, Indiana. Seth, it's great to have you on the program. Hello, sir.
CALLER: Hi, Rush. Pleasure to speak with you. As a father, as a husband, as a patriot, I want to thank you for being our conservative champion out there, the voice of the unheard. I appreciate your service.
RUSH: Thank you, sir, I appreciate that. I really do.
CALLER: Yes, sir. You know, I have heard so many folks call in to your program here, and some of them have been upset because it sounds like you support Trump for a while and then some have been upset because it sounds like you support Cruz for a while. You know, I've tried to stay above the fray and think objectively for myself and listen to you. I didn't turn the radio off when I didn't think that you agreed with me, and I just listened. I listened to the things that you did say. I listened to the things that you didn't say. And, you know, I think I've come to a conclusion as to what I've heard you say, Rush. I think it's been very beneficial to we, the people.
As I've been listening here, I've heard you talk about Trump, and I think that it boils down to you're thrilled that you're finally seeing someone being able to handle the media the way that you've been preaching now for decades. This elite media needs to be handled. But I've also heard you, as I've listened to you closely, I've heard you speak about Cruz as a rock-ribbed conservative, as a thoroughbred, as a constitutional genius.
And, you know, at the end of the day, whenever it all boils down and comes down to it, while being able to handle the media may be able to win you the presidency, it's not gonna make you a good president. And what we need at this time is we need a true, genuine constitutional conservative genius to champion the cause of we, the people. And I see that person as being none other than Senator Ted Cruz. I understand, I appreciate where Trump is coming from --
RUSH: This was a brilliant, brilliant endorsement of Ted Cruz. Seth, if I were giving away prizes, I would give you one.
CALLER: Thank you, sir.
RUSH: Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant call here praising me, explaining to everybody in the audience how I am brilliantly doing what I'm doing, softens me up to let him go ahead and make his Cruz endorsement. He basically told me he thinks I'm full of excrement, but he didn't want to say it. That is the most polite way I've ever been told to shut the hell up about Trump I have ever heard. Very, very clever. This is the kind of brilliant smart people we have here in the audience of the Rush Limbaugh program on the EIB Network.
But he raises an interesting point. He says, "I think I know what it is you like about Trump. Trump really runs aces around the media and you love that," and so forth. The reason I'm spending so much time, folks, today, yesterday -- and I'm not through today with this -- the reason I'm spending so much time getting into it is because there are explanations for why people that you think and have always thought are tried-and-true conservatives are supporting Trump. There are understandable reasons for it. And then there are some of you who also consider yourselves conservative who wouldn't want Ted Cruz anywhere near because of whatever problems you have with him.
What I'm trying to do here is explain why various groups of people think what they think and why it's valid. This is actually a really fascinating set of options that have presented themselves here. And the challenge for me here, what I'm trying to do is explain -- I know there are many of you out there, I don't know how many, but I know there are a lot of you that hate Trump. You just despise him on the basis he's not a conservative and he's fooling everybody, and how in the world, how in the world could he be conservative, how could anybody not do anything to condemn Trump? And that's what I'm trying to explain to you, that we get past the emotion, there are reasons people are doing it. And people who call themselves conservative are supporting Trump. But more importantly people who don't are as well.
So that's the challenge I've given myself here, is to try to explain this, as I am trying to figure it out myself. I think it's a fascinating development, this entire primary season and the various elements and the people in it as they seek your support, seek your votes. It really is fascinating. It's upsetting a lot of conventional wisdom. It's turning a lot of conventional wisdom upside down and on its head, and it's confirming others. It's confirming certain things and it's standing other things we all thought we knew and understood upside down. And if you're not clear, if you're not certain, you're being totally confused, which leads to anger and so forth.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Ed in Exeter, New Hampshire. Welcome, sir.
CALLER: Yes.
RUSH: Great to have you.
CALLER: Rush, thank you for having me. Longtime right-wing Christian conservative dittos.
RUSH: Thank you, sir.
CALLER: I was told to get right to my point. I hope you can hear me. I believe that the Republican establishment has made Trump who he is because if they had kept some promises, he wouldn't be what he is now. He wouldn't have the power he is. But I'm not planning on voting for him on February 9th 'cause I don't really trust him. I'm not sure that... He hasn't given any reason to believe that he would keep constitutional principles like using executive order, and that concerns me. I intend to vote for Cruz. I was tossed very much between Cruz and Carson because they're both men of integrity, and I believe that they would stick to the principles and do what is right.
RUSH: All right. Well, that's cool. I understand your point extremely well. You know, here's an example. Trump the other day said, "I'm gonna make sure we're gonna make..." He said something like, "We'll get Apple to make their damn computers in America." "Yaaaay!" Now, does anybody really believe that Trump is gonna do that? Does anybody really believe that Trump thinks he can do that? It would not solve the battery problem. The battery problem is not related to where things are manufactured.
There is no way Apple products could be manufactured in this country. Not with everything else staying the same. I don't think people would stop to think of that, of what it takes. There's no reason they would. I mean, these factories over there, the iPhone factories, have 700,000 people working in them in every factory. Some have 350,000. They're cities. They have hospitals, rec rooms, all this sort of things. Everything that's in the supply chain is there. It's down the next block. You couldn't... iPhones would cost $2,000, minimum, if they were made here and standard minimum wage was paid.
But, anyway, the question is, "Does Trump know this, or does he...?" I mean, some people real serious, is he this ignorant? Does he really think that a president is a king and can just order companies to change their manufacturing process and location, or does he just say it? And if he's just saying it, then how does he explain later when it doesn't happen? How's he explain to people who believed him that he was gonna bring Apple manufacturing here?
That's the long-term view you've gotta have. "How's he gonna get out of this one?" Are people taking him seriously in the first place on it? (interruption) You don't think so? I don't, either. I think they understand that that's his way of being pro-America. I don't think anybody... I mean, I don't think that a thimble full of people think that he actually intends to do this. It's symbolic. But that's for another day.

Just before Trump gets the nomination, which is almost sealed, watch for Rush’s big Trump endorsement announcement.
Doubt it. He’ll take Trump in the general over the Dem alternative. Don’t expect him to take a side in the primaries until the nominee is certain.

And I personally think that applies to most of what Trump is saying he will do....it’s symbolic and not real intentional, hard plans. Because I don’t think he has any. My suspicion is that either Trump or Sanders is going to be president. And I honestly don’t know under which person we’d be worse off LONG TERM. I fear for the Republic.
Rush is clueless about economics. It’s perfectly possible to get Apple to build their products in the US. You just have to lower taxes and repeal the minimum wage.
Anybody who says that only the Chinese can build an iPhone doesn’t have a clue. Rush should stick to what he knows.

Get to the back of the fear line. Those fearing for the country have been standing in that line for years. It's what created the Trump political revolution. His timing was near perfect. Tens of millions were waiting for someone like Trump.
Trump has said there are jobs Americans wont do.
What makes you and Trump think Americans will make iphones for chinese wages?

Explaining Trump is easy:
We’ve finally realized that regardless of what they SAY, there is very little difference between the what the Republicans and Democrats actually DO once they’re in power.
We can’t fix it within the system. We’ve tried that and failed miserably.
So we’ve turned to an outsider. We’re fed up with BOTH parties and want to fire ALL of them.
So what if Trump is not pure as the driven snow. We’ve tried “pure” before and it turned out to be disguised manure.
It’s not just that Trump is an outsider. He “gets it” on three really big issues:
1. Illegal immigration. That’s the issue that originally propelled him to front runner status. If we don’t fix it we lose our country.
2. Radical Islam. ALL of our milquetoast “leaders” in Washington and ALL of our mainstream media are afraid to even say what us common folks can see easily: Radical Islam is EVIL.
3. Political Correctness. Our whole country has been brow beaten into abject fear by political correctness. Good grief, it took Trump to bring back the phrase “Merry Christmas”.
Trump took the lead on all three of these issues. Some of our other candidates have similar positions to his on these issues, NOW. But Trump was the one who with the guts to actually bring them up. Some of our candidates talk a good game, but Trump PLAYS a good game.
So... Is Trump perfect. NO.
Does he have the guts, charisma, and leadership ability to raise these issues and WIN when he does? YES.
Trump has completely changed the issues in this campaign, and changed them in a way this country desperately needs.
NOT ONE of our other candidates could have done what he has done. He has been attacked non-stop by both parties and the entire MSM, and has still pulled it off.
From my personal perspective there are only two candidates I would consider voting for: Trump and Cruz.
But it is very clear that Cruz could not have done what Trump has done. That makes Trump my choice hands down.
And Trump nor anyone else for that matter, has not a Chinaman's chance in hell of that ever happening! There is a better chance of hillary growing a pair of testicles.
