April 15, 2009 is largely seen as the birth date of the Tea Party movement. Here’s what Trump was saying that day about President Obama:
TRUMP: Well, I think he’s sort of a guy that just has a wonderful personality, a good speaker, somebody that people trust. And I also think that the comparison with his predecessor is so different — it’s so huge that it really has made a great impact on people.
I think that he’s really doing a nice job in terms of representation of this country.
And he represents such a large part of the country. I mean, to think that a black man was going to be elected president — I watched television for years where the great political analysts were saying maybe in 50, maybe in 100 years.
Here’s a man that not only got elected, I think he’s doing a really good job.
Now, the sad part is that he can’t just do a good job. He’s got to do a great job. Because if he does a good job, that’s not good enough for this country. That’s how bad the country has become.
KING: Do you assess him as a champion?
TRUMP: Oh, yes, he’s a champion. I mean, he won against all odds. If you would have looked — when he first announced, people were giving him virtually no chance. And he’s just done something that’s amazing.
TRUMP: He’s totally a champion.
Later in that interview:
KING: You’re not going to march with the tea party?
TRUMP: I don’t march with the tea party. But I’ll tell you what, they have a good point, because when you see the kind of money that this country is — to use a horrible expression, Larry, I know you’ve never heard this — but that this country is p____ away, I can understand where they’re coming from.
I have relatives that are Tea Party, they are milquetoast, as far from ‘burn the f** house down’ as possible. I want to politically Nuke Washington, they want to serve punch and cookies and chant, ‘Taxed enough already’.
SO, and i like trump, fellow NYCer, we are betting the farm that he said all of those past statements for business reasons, and now is showing his true colors.
i too, have had to bend a little in office settings in NYC.
when a gay guy said we’re worse than cuba, i said “we have our issues but we are not worse than cuba”
when they said we slaughtered the indians i politely pointed out that they too are living on the conquered land.
when they spoke of black oppression, i told them they work in an ALL white, all 50 people, graphics center.
Corporatism? you work in an investment bank!!
a log of gays in the office so i am sorry to admit i let you down and just went along with the flow. kind of “if that’s what they want, whatever”
i am not a brave person. i could pretty much stick to my principles, and i could NOT HIDE my hatred for sharpton, clinton et. al., at all.
if Trump said those things for business reasons, he is the best actor in the world.
i hope he was for our sake.

Behold the once mighty "Mama Grizzly," who abandoned her cubs and values for the spotlight and a 30 silver fish.

Damn girl, show some dignity.
Man, Trump flip flops more than Romney and no one seems to care.
At least Ted Cruz has never filed bankruptcy and left other people to pick up his messes.
I don’t honestly think it’s flip flops for Trump. He is 69 years old. I don’t think he has changed one bit. I just think he is saying whatever he needs to, for his intended audience.
These history posts are so repetitive.
We get it. You do not like Trump.
It’s an obvious act. This is a show. And what’s left of the opposition is falling for it, including a lot of people I know.
The situation is utterly hopeless.
You really need to stop this. Two days after that Larry King program, Trump was speaking at the Tax Day Tea Party even in Boca.
You owe everyone who reads this or stops by an apology.

I have literally marched with the Tea Party and I support Trump, Palin and Cruz.
But do you get that Trump does not like us?
That was in 2011, he was considering a run for presidency then as well. He is just a New York City liberal claiming to be a Conservative.
I owe no apology. Trump is a liberal.
But do you get that Trump does not like us?
But do you get Cruz stood with Obama & Goldman Sachs against us? A few months ago! Obviously not.
At least Ted Cruz has never filed bankruptcy and left other people to pick up his messes.
Donald Trump employs 11,000 people. That’s a lot of turkeys on the Thanksgiving table.
Can you name for me a single accomplishment Ted Cruz has outside the court room in his entire life? I see none. Sorry.
It’s apparent you didn’t read the whole article. I didn’t march with the Tea Party either, and to be honest, they didn’t do a very good job of vetting some of the candidates they put up. He isn’t against the TP - read the article - you imbecile.
so YOU say
so many arbiters of Right Thinking here on FR these days
“At least Ted Cruz has never filed bankruptcy and left other people to pick up his messes.
Donald Trump employs 11,000 people. Thatâs a lot of turkeys on the Thanksgiving table.”

Donald Trump has never filed Bankruptcy! I suspect BEANDOG knows that, but ONE MORE TIME!
They were corporate reorganizations, 4 out of hundreds of companies and the creditors get paid.
Law Dictionary: How is Donald Trump Able to File for Bankruptcy So Many Times? He didn’t!

People might ask “How is Donald Trump able to file for bankruptcy so many times?” The answer is “He didn’t.” Trump himself has never filed for bankruptcy. His corporations have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy four times. By filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the corporation is allowed to continue running while restructuring and reducing its debt. By allowing the business to continue, employees still have their jobs and the business is still making money. Corporate debts still need to be repaid but they may be reduced. The corporation must develop a repayment plan and corporate budget. Both must be approved by the creditors and by the bankruptcy court.
I owe no apology. Trump is a liberal.
So because Trump was considering a run for the Presidency gives you a right to outright lie? That's seems to be Cruz' operandi: I am so great and my cause is so noble normal mores don't apply to me and if I lie, or hide my bank loans, or whatever else, it doesn't matter. Just call me Messiah. And most of his supporters do.
