Duke Student Columnist: America’s First Amendment ‘Obsession’ Is ‘Expression Of White

According to a columnist for the Duke University student newspaper, America's "obsession with the First Amendment" is really just "an expression of white supremacy."

"I am thinking about how an urgent and overdue conversation about racism-on our campus and across our country - has been derailed by a diversionary and duplicitous obsession with the First Amendment," graduate student Bennett Carpenter wrote in university newspaper The Chronicle. "I am thinking about how quickly the conversation has shifted from white supremacy to white fragility - and how this shift is itself an expression of white supremacy."

Apparently unaware of the irony of using a newspaper column to call for restrictions on free speech, Carpenter argued that Americans give too much deference to the First Amendment and should focus more on censoring violent speech.

The Founding Fathers explicitly guaranteed a right to free speech, not hurt feelings, or safe spaces.

They also gave everyone free speech and did not make listening to it, mandatory.

In this country there are two completely different peoples living within one border. Does anyone really believe we can reason, coerce, or even coexist with people who believe these things.

The real irony is that the communistic totalitarian faction can only exist as long as the freedom faction stays alive. The moment the last free person dies, the tyrants will turn on, and consume, each other. Collectivist tyranny leads inevitably to mass suicide. Without freedom to stop it, it leads inexorably to the total elimination of the human race.

And as the last male communist dies, he will cry "we won." And as the last female communist dies, she will cry, "it's not my fault."

But for the 1st Amendment this fool wouldn’t be able to say such racist things.
