WASHINGTON - Jewish-American Robert Levinson was not included in a prisoner exchange with Iran that came as the UN nuclear watchdog confirmed Iranâs compliance with the nuclear deal and the West rolled back sanctions.
Iran on Saturday released five Americans it was holding in its prisons or in detention, four of them as part of a prison swap which included the release of Jason Rezaian, a Washington Post journalist detained on espionage charges since 2014.
The exchange comes on "implementation day" of the sanctions relief for nuclear restrictions deal Iran concluded last year with the United States and five other major powers. . .
. . . Levinson, 68, of Coral Springs, Fla., has been missing for close to nine years. CNN quoted Levinsonâs family as expressing happiness for the other families, but saying it was "devastated" that he was not among those released.

I just can’t imagine the hell this Jew is going though at the hands of these animals.
Is he still alive?
Good question.
This is a strange story. I don’t know if it has ever been publicly acknowledged what he was doing over there in the first place.
It is not quite clear if he was still CIA or in his own, or perhaps both. It is not even clear if they ever captured him.
But to imagine being held in Iran as prisoner since 2007 is rather hellish.
Perhaps another few billion will grease the wheels
I had assumed that he was Jewish, and still hope that had nothing to do with his omission from this return of hostages.
The point here is that the Obama Administration just agreed to give Iran $150 billion without bothering to ask for Levinson’s return.
Thanks to this one:
I don’t think it was confirmed that the Iranian government had him in their custody at all.
Last fall I met several retired and serving F.B.I. agents who had worked with Levinson. I was reporting on a notorious Ukrainian-born businessman named Semion Mogilevich, who had earned the dubious distinction of making the F.B.I.s Top Ten Most Wanted List. Mogilevich is, according to one Russian organized crime expert, the high-end underworld financier of choice. Before he retired, Levinson had become perhaps the most fearless, crusading agent against Mogilevich. Hes dangerous because hell get anybody who gets in his way, Levinson once said of Mogilevich, speaking to the BBC. Its become just a little personal hasnt it? the interviewer replied. Id like to finish the job, Levinson said, smirking.

Perhaps https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semion_Mogilevich made a deal with some Iranians that he met earlier:
An F.B.I. report on Russian organized crime said that when the Soviet Union withdrew its military forces from East Germany, many Russian generals sold their weapons to Mr. Mogilevich, who in turn sold them, at much higher prices, to countries like Iraq, Iran and Serbia.

If these Iranians were his counterparts it might explain why the Iranian government is unable to trace Levinson.

He was removed 12/17/2015 from the List after it was determined that he was located in Russia and no longer fit Top Ten criteria.
Thanks AdmSmith.
There’s a female whistle blower who was on the Levinson case who got in a spat with Andrew McCabe
