The Trials and Triumphs of Heidi Cruz
BuzzFeed ^ | March 18, 2015 | Andrew Kaczynski

Posted on 01/19/2016 7:24:40 AM PST by EBH

When she sat on a 2011 panel at Claremont — titled “Women in Finance: Can You Achieve Work/Life Satisfaction?” — she urged the women in attendance to pursue careers in finance, preaching that they often make better investment bankers than men... The Cruzes have two daughters, the elder born in 2008, and live in a downtown Houston high-rise. “I still don’t understand my friends who say it’s not worth it to them to have someone living with them,” she said. “It is worth it to me on every level. I don’t mind sharing a bedroom down the hall if someone is willing to do all that. But I’m very comfortable with that and it allows me to work 80 hours a week and be… part of my husband’s career, as well.”

But while such full-throated defenses of professional women have been commonplace in Heidi Cruz’s past, comments like those could prove combustible in a Republican primary.

“It’s sort of interesting to think of her now as a potential first lady sort of person because that’s not how I saw her back then,” said Blomberg, who worked with Cruz at Treasury. “I just didn’t see her as making her career about her husband … I see her as being a lot deeper than that.”

As for professor Haley, he has continued to track his protégé’s career over the years, and holds out hope that she will one day return to an administration job. “She really does have the ethic of public service,” he said. In the meantime, he said he was in awe of how she has managed to accomplish so much.

“It can’t be easy to juggle all these balls: family, work, and Ted’s ambitions,” he said. “Her life is a complicated one. But that’s Heidi. She can handle that.”

This is the original article as written by BuzzFeed. It is well done, poignant at times, and a far cry from the link that appears elsewhere on FR titled, "Cops found Ted Cruz's Wife on Roadside, thought she was a danger to herself."

Reviewing both articles it is startling to see journalism vs. gaslighting garbage

Sounds like a younger version of Hillary. Her husband is a younger version of “Slick Willie”. Do we need that again ?

Thank you for the update...why would anyone visiting FR post the products of sensationalistic yellow journalism? FR has high standards, right!

Correcting those ‘ and “ symbols sure would make your postings easier to read.
Here’s a website that will do it for you if you don’t want to do it yourself.

At least Heidi has great work reviews from her colleagues where as Hillary was clearly perceived as conniving, liar, and untrustworthy.

Bill W/O the Bimbos is correct. What I was referring to was how “Slick Willie” was able to convince everyone he was just a Good Ol Boy and Cruz is trying to convince everyone he is a Conservative while at the same time he is in bed with Wall Street and Trial Lawyers. Both are smooth talkers that reminds me of Slick Used Car Salesmen.

Sorry to say, but I am concerned about Mrs Cruz. There is a real possibility she may be over her head emotionally and physically. Wife, mother, executive, First Lady competition. Some people handle stress better then others. Some people are not able to control their urge to push themselves beyond healthy bounds. Is that what we have with Mrs Cruz?

Thank you! Bookmarked that sight.

It is annoying to go through these articles and either retype them or correct them.

FR used to not have that issue...

I don’t wish to demean her struggle with mental issues, but maybe her husband should be extra mindful of the stressful nature of his ambition on his wife and family. Especially after having experienced a bout of depression that lands your wife alongside the Mopac over much lesser circumstances than a presidential campaign.

I was deeply frustrated by, but always will be respectful of Sarah Palin’s decision to put her family ahead of her political aspirations.

Yes it is but read ability means a lot.

Something changed in the coding world and has caused the problem at FR.
Supposedly they are working on it but I’m not a code guru so I have no
idea what it takes.

Take care.

Based on what I know and see of Ted Cruz, there is no way he is ever going to be mindful of the stressful nature of his ambitions on his wife and family. Nor, do I believe he cares and isn’t going to let anything get in his way. There is a reason nobody likes Ted and this is one of them.

Okay. It’s a great World when there is always somebody to love someone nobody else loves. Hope it doesn’t hurt too much when he goes down. We’ll need you to support Trump against Hillary.

I will vote TRUMP in the long run.......but to say nobody like Ted Cruz is just a lie.

Actually to hear Trump say that Everybody in Washington HATES CRUZ.......What better endorsement can Cruz have than that? Ted should use that himself in his ads.

Actually as well. Didn't we all get so excited everytime the GOPe and/or the media did a HATE on Trump? Well of course we did, and took it as a compliment and backed him even more. See how the double standard now works?
