I have to say, as an evangelical, Baptist, born-again Christian, I will have no problem whatsoever voting for Donald Trump. I want somebody who will take care of the issue that I am most concerned about and that is illegal immigration, which is destroying this country. No, Trump is not everything I would want in a candidate. He’s too prideful, rude, and unforgiving, BUT out of all the candidates, he is the only one I believe would be bullheaded enough to actually carry out his promise to rid this nation of the millions and millions of undocumented squatters. And do you know why I believe he would be bullheaded enough to keep his promises, regarding deportation, building the wall and securing our border? Because I see and hear in him the same frustration I have about this insanity. He gets what it is doing to our business and our country’s resources. I don’t get that same sense from any of the other candidates. I still think Ted Cruz is better than the other contenders below him, HOWEVER, he hasn’t convinced me at all me he is as concerned and as determined about stopping this insanity as Trump has.

And to my fellow Christians, let me just say this. Don’t assume God only wants us to vote for another believer. The Bible says in Psalm 75:7 that it is God who raises up one and puts down another, that the authorities that be are ordained by God. (Romans 13:1) And he does it for His own purposes, whether to judge a nation, deliver a nation, or to prosper a nation. And we don’t usually recognize which purpose He is carrying out when we cast our votes. However, the Scriptures clearly teach that it is God who has the deciding vote on any potential leader. Don’t forget, He set up pagan kings over his people and told them to submit to them, including the notoriously egotistical, Nebuchadnezzar, whom He would later humble in a colossal way. (I’m praying for Trump to be humbled and saved too.) God called the pagan, Darius, “His servant.”

This argument that assumes a Christian will make a better and more wiser president than a non-Christian president is utterly ridiculous. Some of the dumbest decisions ever made have come from born-again believers, I know, because I’ve made them. Some of the most unscriptural convictions are held and devoutly practiced by blood-bought children of God. Even Jesus said, “The children of this world are wiser in their generation than the children of light.” For example, both Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush were presidents I consider to be Christians, but only one of them would I consider to be a benefit and a success to this nation in the world. The assumption of some Christians is if a candidate is a fellow believer, God always wants and expects them to vote for that person. Just because a Christian runs for office, does not mean that it was ever God’s will or intention for that person to run or be elected. For instance, my pastor told me one time that the highest calling a man can receive on earth is for his Creator to call him into the ministry to preach and teach the Word of God. And since Mike Huckabee has claimed over the years to have had this high calling, my pastor wondered why he forsook it to be a politician. Does Huckabee really believe that would God change His mind and wants him to be president more than a preacher? Well, the Bible says the gifts and callings of God are irreversible. (Romans 11:29) I remember how Sarah Palin was touted as the next Esther to deliver America from that wicked Obama. She was praised as, prayed for, and prophesied to, but it didn’t happen. And God knew it wouldn’t happen. You don’t think He could not have exalted her to the presidency if He had ordained her to be president? Of course He could have and would have. The truth is, it was never God’s calling for her, it was the calling of those of us who wanted her to be in power. Besides, she is too good for a country gone bad. A country that was and still is, morally corrupt and spiritually bankrupt. Was it God’s perfect will that more foolish and ungodly decisions with detrimental outcomes continue in this nation and that Barack Obama would be elected and then reelected? Of course not. But it was His permissive will, because He used him to bring this country down from its rebellion against Him.

It’s been said before, but it needs repeating. We are voting for a president, not a pastor. We are trying to find someone who loves this country and will protect her, care for her people, and enforce her laws at all cost. And for me, Donald Trump comes the closest to doing just that. If I am needing emergency surgery, I’m not going to vet the doctor on his religious views, before I let him touch me. I look at his track record, his resume, on what he has accomplished as a surgeon and then I’ll decide whether or not his experience warrants my trust. Well, our nation needs emergency surgery to remove the growing invasion of unwanted illegals that are sucking the life out of it. And since Donald Trump knows what it’s like to run a business, meet a payroll, create jobs, and hire the best. And since he knows what is threatening our jobs, our economy, and our global competitiveness. And since he knows the security of America is at stake and hasn’t back down one iota in calling a spade a spade, regarding what is required to defend us, I’m voting for him.

Trump has never made a hard choice in his life. He has done nothing but business, and knows how to smooze people to get what he wants. This country is at a point where the decisions we make will sink us if not the right decision. I have not heard DT make the case for following the constitution. If fact, he never mentions the constitution. Always be mindful of who will support the constitution, and not just rhetoric.
