Is Roberts chief justice for life? Or can he be rotated out of the chief’s seat and back benched by a new president? Can a new president name a new chief?
To: springwater13
Has Cruz yet spoken out about what a disaster Justice Roberts is? Interesting that Robers is a guy most of us here believe has been compromised because of something in his background that wasn't part of the narrative.
Just sayin'....

I absolutely believe Roberts was blackmailed over the adoption of his two children.

It’s good to hear it now, but I would be more impressed if he made these comments back when Roberts was nominated.

The U.S. Constitution states that all justices of the court “shall hold their offices during good behavior,” meaning that the appointments end only when a justice dies in office, resigns, or is impeached by the United States House of Representatives and convicted at trial by the Senate.

On the subject of SCOTUS Nominees...
This is an interesting read.
Cruz later criticized Roberts, but it was too late.
Read who brought him on board the Bush team.
Read the praise he had for him during the nomination process.
See if you recognize any catch phrases in there. These are the exact terms Cruz uses to describe himself, and my inclination is to consider the terms probably about as accurate.

...Roberts was blackmailed over the adoption of his two children.A very logical conclusion explaining the advance belief that he was a straight shooter conservative.

Hindsight is 20/20. I didn’t see a single complaint here on FR when he was appointed.

Can a president name a new chief justice? The idea being that he demotes Roberts to the role of justice and bring up Clarence Thomas?
