Donald Trump would make a good president. And so would Ted Cruz. The elite limousine liberals in New York are laughing their @sses off, when they see the supporters of two great conservatives attacking each other.
Any intellectually honest supporter of Trump will acknowledge that Cruz was not attacking the average New Yorker. He was attacking New York's left-wing intellectuals, who have the reputation of being the most arrogant intellectuals on the face of the earth. Those elite intellectuals despise average New Yorkers, and they hate the New York Police Department. These intellectuals hate America, as much as the intellectuals of the University of California Berkeley, but they have much more national and global influence than the Berkeley intellectuals.
These are the columnists who write for the New York Times, the New Yorker, and other elitist publications in that city. Politicians who get elected in New York, have a tendency to seek to appease these elite intellectuals, rather than to represent the interests of those who elected them.
Average New Yorkers are actually more conservative than we are led to believe. New Yorkers voted for Nixon in 1972 and for Reagan in 1984. Pro-life candidates like former Sen. Alfonse D'Amato and Rep. Peter King, occasionally get elected to public office.
Unfortunately, average New Yorkers live in a state where left-wing intellectuals have too much power. Despite pretensions that they support free speech, these intellectuals have imposed a tyranny of political correctness on average New Yorkers who say critical things about gay behavior and late term abortion.
The average New Yorker, even one who claims to support gay marriage, would not want his son to become gay. In March 2015, the New York Senate rejected an expanded pro-abortion law:

The elite left-wing intellectuals of New York hate Donald Trump's proposals to restrict immigration, because it will reduce their supply of cheap maids. The supporters of Trump and Cruz should focus on bashing these elite intellectuals, who hate God and hate America, rather than bashing the two Republican candidates.
I prefer Texas values to New York City Values, and I believe most of America does.
Yes, one great Conservative and one media star New York liberal who will be whatever he thinks he needs to be to get elected.
If you are talking about NYC residents you are absolutely wrong.
Average NYC residents are illegal and legal immigrants , welfare cases and parsaites, homosexuals, criminals, the mentally ill, and rich elitists.
Their values have nothing in common with American values of hard work and self sufficiency.
Citizens of the rest of the State are different.
There are some rare types in NYC that do have American values, but they are tied to the city financially and will only remain as long as necessary.
99% of the good people left NYC a LONG time ago.
Those 9/11 NYC cops and firemen were mostly from Long Island.
Question: why don’t Texans get their own house in order before attacking other states and cities? I noticed this back in 2012 when Perry was making his run.
I can say as a Texan, that Austin is as nuts as NYC.
Spoken like a man whose moniker is “Gay State Conservative”! LOL.
I could just as easily call it "Dallas Values."
Well reasoned and stated for the most part. But Cruz knew exactly what he was saying, it’s been confirmed that he “message tested” this line in Iowa and elsewhere and it was well received, to he trotted it out in the wrong venue, to his peril. What he meant and what people interpret it as, and what the media tells them he meant, and what other candidates say about it - - those are all now in play, and he has himself to blame.
So it’s not imprecise language as much as imprecise thinking. This sounded like a great way to separate himself from the liberal elitists and it backfired. The more Cruz tries to explain and nuance it, the more people will discover that he’s an elitist himself, and not very experienced in the game of politics.
No one will ever catch Trump doing “message testing”
“The values of elite left-wing New York intellectuals are filthy, disgusting, anti-God, and anti-American values.”

That dude is seriously deranged.
Good point. However, other cities that may have values similar to the elites in NYC do not have the means, nor intent, to export those values across the county. NYC being the media, financial, and “cultural” hub gives them every opportunity to do just that.
Yup!
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo believes that pro-life activists, along with anti-gay activists and supporters of the Second Amendment, are not welcome in his state.
Tell me where I'm wrong. And also...if you read my profile you'd know where "Gay State" comes from (that profile having been written 11 years ago). And for the record I fully understand that my home state (and home city) are almost as filthy as is New York State (and City).
I think what I dislike most about this Cruz attack is attributing moral values to an entire population. Sure, there’s lots of depraved sickos in NY, LA, Washington state, D.C. Philly, and the list goes on.
It’s a divisive tactics and we’ve had enough of that from Obama. Cruz should find another way to make his point.
Do some reason on Houston ‘ s former mayor Annise parker and ex-San Antonio mayor Julian Castro and see that Texas isn’t immune from Marxism.
LBJ was a Texan, ‘nuff said.
That sounds like a good idea. However,it *is* reasonable to try to establish who,if anyone,in the GOP field personifies "New York values".I can't say that I know as much as I should about Trump but what I've heard from him recently I'm inclined to think that he doesn't.
It would be lovely to drop all regional attacks within and without FR.
Every state is pretty much the same. Big cities are liberal, the rest is conservative.
