Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) fired back on Saturday after Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump launched a lengthy, furious tweetstorm at him. Cruz reportedly suggested that Trump´s attacks came in response to a new poll that showed him losing in a head-to-head competition with the senator. "That has got to drive him nuts, and I imagine it sent him out of bed this morning tweeting and tweeting and tweeting," Cruz said, according to The Texas Tribune and other outlets. Cruz then reportedly said Trump´s behavior wouldn´t be appropriate for a "commander in chief."

Nothing about Trump is presidential. He’s an arrogant, abusive loud mouth He’s an emotionally immature, naive (at best) dolt. A super rich one, but still a dolt. His gushing over Putin is just one of many indications that he isn’t fit for the job.

Cruz is tough, only he's a lot smarter, wiser, and more knowledgeable than Trump. He would never suck up to Putin, with all the evil things he's done and is doing still, such as arming hostile leftist regimes throughout Latin America, and invading former Soviet states in Eastern Europe, on and on.

Since the treaty was launched, Russia has deployed 111 new nuclear warheads, bringing its total number of deployed warheads to 1,648. That treaty limit is 1,550 warheads - a number that must be reached in 2018.
Comparatively, the numbers of U.S. nuclear warheads, missiles and bombers have fallen dramatically and are already below the limits set by the treaty. Additionally, the United States has decreased the number of warheads in its deployed nuclear arsenal by 250.
While the United States intends to eliminate heavy bombers and launchers, Russia has launched a strategic nuclear force expansion.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also recently announced a new doctrine that placed priority on nuclear forces.
If this raises concern for you, you are not alone.
Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Ala., chairman of the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Strategic Forces, said Russia "is in the business of violating treaties."
Rogers said Putin has violated several agreements and treaties in the past, and he simply "violates any treaty or agreement that puts limits on capabilities that Mr. Putin and his cronies desire."
"Russia's arguable adherence to the New START Treaty just indicates how bad a deal it is for the United States," he said.
Adm. William Gortney, commander of the U.S. Northern Command, said Wednesday that Russia has read our play book and is "fielding cruise missiles that are very, very accurate, very long range."
Gortney said these missiles have the ability to reach targets in Canada and the United States. He added that Russia has been participating in war game scenarios recently that simulate cruise missile strikes in Alaska.
This news is serious because it appears Russia has no intention of abiding by New START or any other treaty. We should therefore be building up our military and our arsenals instead of depleting them.

Russia has now deployed more than 100 nuclear warheads in its strategic arsenal above the limits set by the New START arms treaty limits, two years before it must meet treaty arms reduction goals.
"New START nuclear warhead and delivery system numbers made public Oct. 1 reveal that since the 2010 arms accord went into force, Moscow increased the number of deployed nuclear warheads by a total of 111 weapons for a total of 1,648 deployed warheads. That number is 98 warheads above the treaty limit of 1,550 warheads that must be reached by the 2018 deadline of the treaty.
At the same time, U.S. nuclear warheads, missiles, and bombers have fallen sharply and remain below the required levels under the New START pact.

My gues, like I said, is that Republican Libertarians, who lost out when Rand Paul imploded are behind much of it. They exhibit a visceral hatred for evangelicals.
Trump’s tweets were not only not presidential, they did not even sound like an educated adult.
I’ve never read such childish ranting from a public figure.
Trump did indeed call Iowa voters stupid when Ben Carson was leading there.
That’s what he does. He pretended to like Ben Carson but then insinuated that he has a mental problem.
He pretended to like Cruz and then unleashed a crazed tweet fest. I expected him to get out marbles and start playing with them any minute.
I only know (really well)one libertarian Rand supporter, and he has now put his support behind Cruz. He is a VERY well informed guy, though. I know a sample of one does not make a trend, so there may be some truth in what you say.
Cruz is right, but dividing our nation with that NEW YORK VALUES comment wasn’t Presidential either. I couldn’t imagine Reagan ever saying something like that.
Both men need to calm down. We’ve had a divider in the WH for the past 8 years... Time to get smart.

I’m wondering what’s going on around here. I did think we were heading off the dirty tricks of the GOP for a change ... what with Rove, all the usual suspects and their typical dirty tricks, stalking horses, and all that.
Don’t know what to think lately. I was one who appreciated what I though was the honesty of Trump taking it to the establishment because he’d had enough ... along with his penchant to strike out at PC nonsense. And I had a belief that he was sincere in spite of his past.
But what I thought was honesty, directness, non-PC, and refreshing turns out to be something else, and my respect is circling the drain while some kind of weird spin is inserted to protect Trump, and excuses are being made by those who ordinarily would know better (although I’ve noticed some recent sign-ups are instigating and driving much of it).
Trump only hits when he’s hit first? No, not true at this point. Maybe in the beginning, but not now.
Just my take of the current situation .. Trump can say whatever ... he is excused ... Cruz was the nice guy and it doesn’t become him to defend himself .. so he is accused.
Trump (November 2015): How stupid is Iowa? (So what? This is Trump. Get over it).
Cruz (January 2015..days prior to debate): NY values are not Iowa’s values. (Cruz insulted the heroes of 9-11 ... the first responders and the NYers who died).
Trump (January 5, 2016): And I always say, and I say it with a smile, not too many evangelicals come out of Cuba, where you have Ted (Ted’s from Cuba?) ... And I do - I say it with a smile... I don’t know. I’m not question[ing] anybody’s faith. (Trump went on to explain that he is actually the evangelical).
Cruz (January 14, 2016): Not very many conservatives come out of Manhattan. Just sayin’. (Although Cruz went on the explain NY values of proabortion, anti-second amendment, anti-freedom, pro gay marriage, this was immediately and dishonestly jumped upon as an attack on the people who assisted the victims of 9-11.)
Another double standard I’ve noticed .. Trump is expected to double down, with cleverness or with sarcasm, and that’s A-OK. When Cruz doubles down, making excellent points against the corruption and lack of morals in the leaders of NY, that’s smarmy.
And so here we are.
