Arthus, Wildfire! March. I guess you are forgetting to factor in that to many of us “liberal” is the nastiest thing you can say about anyone. I have written off any but superficial exchanges with anyone who voted for Obama and won’t admit that they were wrong and sorry. If I want to say that someone is beneath contempt I don’t need to trot out my thesaurus I just say “He’s a liberal” and I’m done.

Painting a state and especially a city as having liberal values, being licentious and worshiping at the twin gods of fame and money to get over on his opponent. Fugedabout it.
I wnet to catholic school in Brooklyn, played stickball on stoops, went to college at Fordham. I don’t know the city he paints. I did avoid Time Square before Rudy cleaned it up and on visits in to the Theatre I see some things I don’t like but there is no denying the hustle bustle and the heart of NY. Like I love my country I love NY.

Haha!

Hannity, a New Yorker as we all know, agrees Cruz and also appreciated Trump’s defense of New York. So do I.

Trump won big on a local level. I’m happy for him. Cruz wants to win big on a national level AND make people talk more about right-and-wrong in politics, otherwise known as conservatism.

Not much in the class warfare stuff though ... ‘licentious and worshiping at the twin gods of fame and money’ ... we need MORE money making energy throughout the US.

Here’s my take. My mom was a New Yorker from way back, so I’d like a little input from someone closer to the great city ...

No one really believes that Cruz mocked the NY response during 9-11, nor did Trump expect anyone to believe it.

He has an aggressive way of putting people on the defensive. It’s a verbal tactic, and I suspect a cultural thing, not an intention to slander. I’ve run into it countless times in my life even here in south Virginia. Irritating, but you get used to it in New York.

"Fugedabout it", "catholic school in Brooklyn", playing stickball"? In case you haven't noticed, those days are gone. You can hardly find a traditional old-school New York Italian in the city anymore, outside of Staten Island. All of the former neighborhoods are kaput, either transformed into liberal yuppy millennial havens or taken over by hispanics, chinese or middle easterners.
