I don’t waste my time on sites that don’t support Disqus — Free Republic being the obvious exception.
Politico self-castrated because it couldn’t handle the objecting opinions expressed on Disqus.
All the news sites are starting to do this. But all they’re doing is digging their own graves like LGF did. One of the best things about online news articles is the comments. When I used to read the newspaper, that’s the first thing I would read.

I find sites that are rabidly pro one candidate to have degraded and untrustworthy information - so much so that I doubt the veracity of everything they post. I don’t vote until March so I want to read about everyone (except Bush and Kasich...)
Free republic has become nearly as bad.

What were the posts involved? Honestly, I’m disgusted with attacks between Cruz and Trump supporters. The democrats are laughing their butts off while we destroy the two strongest candidates. Yes, we can question things but we should steer clear of outright destroying people.

I recently noticed that as well. I stopped going to Breitbart because idiotic and insulting comments from the Trump supporters. All they do is attack even if you have a valid argument. I havent been on FR for very long at all and so far everyone on both sides here give intelligent thoughts, etc.
Nothing solidifies the stated gratitude like a donation to help keep the lights on....
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate (even if he's "rich enough to do it on his own") as the next President.
I donate to the candidate I support and you should too, else, your "support" really doesn't have any meaning.
It's even worse if you use FR and don't donate. If you are one of those who feel it's OK to use FR daily w/o helping pay to keep the lights on, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches because, functionally, you are no different than any other who enjoys the fruits of others' work for your own benefit. Also, don't be surprised if others decide that your opinions are as worthless as your non-donations - hypocrites aren't worth listening to.
PS - If you are one of those unlucky few who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

Seems I kept saying I wouldn't trash either one and I got l-o-n-g responses about how stupid I was. They were not banned.
Most of the time I see people getting banned is not because of the opinions stated, but rather the name calling, belligerence, or “stalking.” I a not accusing you of that. I am guilty of some of those from my past.
A new year’s resolution is to not engage in arguments, but discussions.
Different sites have different tolerances. Free Republic tends to be more free than most.
