A widower of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks is inviting Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) to Ground Zero in order to show him what "New York values" look like.
NYPD officer Jim Smith, husband of fallen police officer Moira Smith, sent the invitation in a Facebook post on Thursday after Cruz attacked Republican primary front-runner Donald Trump for embodying "New York values."
"I invite you to come to the National 9-11 Memorial and Museum and see for yourself, and perhaps learn something about, the values of New Yorkers and the Heroes who defended American values on September 11th, 2001," Smith said in the post, as first reported by the Daily Beast.
Trump responded in a similar fashion at Thursday nightâs Republican primary debate, invoking the 9/11 attacks and calling the statement "very insulting" to New Yorkers.

Plenty of idiots exist.
Just keep reading.
Who knew the people of NYC were so thin skinned? I guess that’s why they so overwhelmingly vote Democrat.
Dunno. Doesn’t matter either way. Jersey has as much/many liberalism and Islam loving pols as NYC.
But NYC still has a commie mayor. It’s a totally separate issue.
Cruz better be prepared to double down on the ‘new york values’ bit, because this is not the election to show even a little bit of weakness. If it gets him on TV and effectivley speaking to the American public, cutting through the media filters (like trump has through his many ‘campaign ending gaffes’) and Cruz effectively links Trump to New York liberal nannystaters like Bloomberg and DiBlasio, it will be seen as a masterstroke. He is certainly capable of it, it remains to he seen if he can pull it off.
If he can’t, well maybe he wasn’t strong enough for this cycle after all. If Cruz (or Rubio, or anyone not Trump) is going to win the nomination, he or she has to earn the nomination by beating Trump in the primaries, not by waiting for Trump to lose. It should be clear by now that Trump isn’t going away.
Ground 0 is irrelevant to the charges about New York Values. The events following and the professionals involved represent a minority of new yorkers and do not represent their values.
New York is better than many cities but is still not reresentative of America. That city has been gone for many years
In 40 years, I’ve never seen a rat or a mouse on the platform or trains of the NYC subway system.
I love your idea of a good time: visiting the spot where John Lennon was murdered. By, ahem, someone from Ft. Worth, Texas, I believe.
The point is you know nothing about this individual who you assume voted for someone you dislike. Show me the evidence.
New York is the abortion capital of the nation.
I asked a question. I didn’t say I knew word one about her.
Show ME the evidence that I did.
Now now Mm.

You aren’t even a current legal resident of NY.
We should make a list and send it to her. First responders are very different from the average city dweller who doesn’t call 911 because they think someone else will. It’s common to large populations.
I did not have a good time, I did not like nor would ever want to visit again, you confirm the thin skinned attitude that Cruz is receiving today due to HIS comments.
Oh, no! Soon we’ll be dragging out the Big Lie of Kitty Genovese which has been debunked about a thousand times.
Not only have I called 911 or 311 many times in my life just two weekends ago when a man fell ill on 3rd Avenue near my apartment, a group of us called 911 simultaneously. Eventually most of us disconnected because we knew we were screwing around with the system. I waited for the ambulance.
You could fit all the people worth a damn in that rathole in Yankee Stadium. Most of them would be first responder types.
Ted makes stupid comment, Ted must pay the price. Tell him to keep Texas murderers out of my city.

It isn’t even your city, you don’t live there.
I will keep posting that until you deal with it. Cruz supporters think Cruz walks on water and instead of dealing with the inconsistencies of their candidate they want to toss insults.
So why is Cruz meeting with gays and taking their money? You don’t have a problem with that?
No, I do not vote in Manhattan as of 2010. That’s no secret if you know me here on FR. I, do, along with my husband, though, pay $2000 a month for a NYC apartment on 3rd Avenue & 25th St. I was born in Queens, like The Donald, and went to NYC schools and college and had my first apartment on the Upper East Side in 1977. Stick that in your marijuana bong and smoke it.
You don’t have a problem with this?
