Rudy Giuliani: Ted Cruz’s view of New York’s ‘values’ completely ignores city’s strength
NY Daily News ^

Posted on 01/15/2016 12:08:19 PM PST by springwater13

After all we have been through as a city and as one undivided nation, to have a United States senator running for President paint New York as a city consumed with greed, sin and media obsession is shocking. Sen. Ted Cruz should apologize to the people of New York for his remarks and to the people of the United States for his crass attempt to divide us. And whatever our inclinations in the presidential race, all of us should be proud of Donald Trump's strong, truthful and eloquent defense of our great city and nation.

As the late, great New Yorker, Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, made clear in his authoritative analysis of the federal budget, every year New York sends billions of dollars more to Washington, D.C., than Washington sends to us. And one of the reasons for that is Wall Street, the financial engine that makes all the programs we support, Republican, Democrat and bi-partisan, possible. When Sen. Cruz and so many of the other candidates of both parties come to New York City, they seem pretty happy to be here and are more than willing to take our money.

Well if you're willing to take our money, then show us the respect we deserve and earned and don't try to divide us from our fellow Americans.

Rudy would be better. Christie has done almost nothing for the state of NJ. Rudy actually did jail a lot of hoodlums when he was attorney general.

“LMAO! Cruz gave up votes in a state he was never going to win, while picking up support in states that don’t share the values that New York is known for: Wall Street bailouts, high taxes, huge governments, lousy public schools, etc. You know, trickle down government. “

Exactly spot on.

Christie still has fire-in-the-belly while Rudy has become a bit too comfortable on the talk show rotations.

I disagree. While New Yorkers will probably not forget his diss, by the time Cruz gets the nomination, the south will have long forgotten what he said about NY. Especially if he keeps taking money from them.

“he will cause Southerners who believe in social conservative values to pause and rethink the Trump vote.”

So you are saying that Trump will implode.

I don’t think so.

Trump has been continually attacked throughout the campaign. He has been called a racist, a hater, etc. The “experts” have been saying his campaign is about to implode for the last 6 months. This will not hurt Trump.

Oh REALLY ? I doubt that and you are delusional!

Why should Trump supporters jump to Cruz, the guy who goes begging to NYC QUEERS for money and then spits on GOOD New Yorkers?

Well, I hadn’t thought about his age and all, so you might have a point. It’s just that Christie has been such an enormous (no pun intended) disappointment.

no, you should be smart enough to know he meant NY poltiical values....

That is not what he said. He said

"The rest of the country knows exactly what New York values are, and I gotta say, they're not Iowa values and they're not New Hampshire values"

Cruz basically insulted everyone in and from the state of New York. He will never recover from this.

And don’t forget that a lot of New Yorkers now live in many different states, which Cruz won’t win....Florida, Texas, both Carolinas, and more.

Cruz is worried about that clearly. Today he's talking about "New York City" values.

Oh Dear God. He's still talking about it???

Ted, quit digging!

It was not an effective attack. Cruz angered and alienated a lot of people for no reason.

I understood exactly what Cruz meant. Don't have a knee-jerk "Oh, I'm all hurt and stuff" response like a low information voter would have. He meant the libtard morally bereft values exhibited by what the press would have you believe is the majority of NYC. Don't fall for the fake outrage led by trash like the NY Daily News and NY Post staffs. Remember who NYC voted in for a mayor. Mr. Commie Garbage himself. Remember who NY voted in for their governor--Libtard Cuomo. Remember who NY voted in for Senators--libtard twins Schumer and Gillibrand. Remember who NYC voted in for Congresscritters--Gregory Meeks, one of the most corrupt politicians going, Grace Meng, related to Chinese criminals, Gerald Nadler, a disgusting blob of a libtard, Charles Rangel, a corrupt racist of racists, Joseph Crowley---who lives in VIRGINIA yet claims to represent a NYC district!--and the oozingly corrupt NYC City Council, advocating penalties for referring to a she-male with the incorrect pronoun, advocating gun control, advocating anything that goes against common sense and morality.

Yeah, I understand exactly what Cruz was talking about.

Great ideas and yes, Rudy IS right about Ted...who keeps taking BIG BUCKS for QUEERS.

We've been posting for about the same time, and I've enjoyed many of your posts in the past. Don't you think you need to tap the brakes on the epithets. That last word is so 1960s.

Just my opinion, FRiend. BTW, Trump is still my #2. I think you guys are being had by the Trump/Cruz Kabuki theatre. Those two have absolutely been dominating the airwaves with their "feud", and sending GOPe to the fringes of the news cycle.
