Trump’s donation history shows Democratic favoritism
the washington post ^ | April 26, 2011 | Dan Eggen and T.W. Farnam

Billionaire Donald J. Trump, an early presidential favorite among tea party activists, has a highly unusual history of political contributions for a prospective Republican candidate: He has given most of his money to the other side. ..... Former congressman Thomas M. Davis III (Va.), who served as chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, said Trump’s close ties to some Democrats would be "a huge obstacle, but it’s not insurmountable." Trump, he added, would not be running as a "purity" candidate.

exactly why this was posted.

too bad the Tea Party candidates didn’t have Trump’s funding after 2008. So many Dems and RINOs could have challenged with more media. And Trump would have more credibility after giving so much to Dems

You mean “instate” like nazi pelosi and Harry reid? Like the dammocrap victory fund to undo Republican control of the Senate, helping to create the conditions to pass obamacare? Like THOSE “instate” contributions?

Not only that, being from NY Rudy Giuliani is a hell of a lot more conservative than Trump. I will vote for Trump if he is the nominee. But why he is the darling of FR this time around kind of boggles the mind.

Trump was fantastic tonight and is growing as a candidate by the minute. He has not budged on any issue and seems to only be getting stronger. I find it hard to believe that he will walk back any of his stances on conservative issues. He knows he will be shredded by the very base of the party. Cruz was doing well until Rubio laid him out flat with the facts on Ted's border stances. Let me guess that you will somehow let Cruz recent past go but you will continue to rip Trump's much more distance past?

As a businessman I would hope one would donate to both parties. Greasing a few palms makes the job easier.

There is always an excuse for Trump's bad choices from Trump supporters.

he didn’t however..run for President holding those views and simply pretend to be a republican ! therein lies the difference, and a glaring difference it is!

I was a Conservative as a teenager. Guess I had no heart but then as a Black Conservative teenager surrounded by political ignorants I needed to be ice cold heartless in the late 80s!

Exactly. When I heard Cruz say that, I thought to myself (and posted here):

Yeah, that worked out so good for Dole, Bush, McCain, and Romney, being nice instead of taking it to their political enemies.

You win with everything you have. Anything else is not doing your best.

Trump had 22,500 people depending on him to keep his company moving ahead despite government regulations and red tape.

Are you able to grasp that?

So Trump doesn’t play ball, and six thousand employees lose their incomes because Trump has to shut down work while he goes through red tape.

Is that a good thing?

He was in New York, and had to deal with New York politicians.

Who knew?
