Everybody’s nutting up, it’s unreal.
I want a Constitutional Run Country....and the Freedoms of all states to conduct their business as the people want....and most of all I want a Leader who fully understands how this nation was founded and under who they really "serve".
I don't want a Hero...I want a Leader who will lead all men of this great nation....Some men know 'who they ultimately serve' when faced with insurmountable circumstances, when their nation is at a crossroads.... They aren't looking for vain glory...they are looking for a victory that is God given ...and good for this nation and it's people as HE wants.
He probably smells it everyday - it sits between his ears!
Spot-on observations and conclusion.
More than that - Mr. Trump’s mother was a naturalized U.S. citizen before Donald was born ... So Senator Cruz was dead wrong in his presumption.
I believe from what I have heard is Mrs. Cruz was on a voters list in Canada. They do election census taking in Canada before all elections. Yes she would have to prove her Canadian citizenship to be on voters list. That does not mean she gave up her American citizenship. I seen no evidence she did or did not give up her American citizenship. That is part of the problem Ted has not cleared this up, none of it, which seems to be a habit with him, trying to just skate by anything he would rather not be public. That is troubling in itself.
His father was not an American citizen at the time of his birth.
He would have been wise to clear this up when he first decided to run for President. When was that a year ... two years ago?
Now people are going to ask, why didn’t he clear this up? What is he trying to hide? Maybe nothing but it is all too typical Cruz and it raises questions and concerns.
This is coming at him now like a freight train and it will be used against him if he gets the nomination. I think it is stupid of him, or maybe he is hiding something. What else can we think? The dems and media will hammer him with this if he gets the nomination (which is highly unlikely with Trump’s support, but not impossible). Of course the Dems will take it to the courts and they might win BECAUSE it is NOT settled law. It has never been dealt with by the court so it cannot be settled law. It is just dumb Cruz let himself get in this position and it makes me question his ability to make wise decisions as do some other things he has done.
I don't disagree with that, and think the framework I outlined does that. At IV. Sec. 2 hasn't been repealed or amended, and it looks to state citizenship. For purposes of US NBC, the federal court could use either the 14th amendment, which is literally born in the US, or it could use Art IV, Sec. 2, which is citizen of a state.
The number of times an NBC issue can come up is once each 4 years, at most. I don't think a court should try to anticipate all the permutations of birth circumstance in advance, and for Cruz, the question is easy to resolve - Cruz was not a citizen of any state when he was born. A different fact pattern with kid born abroad while parents are on a one month vacation merits a more detailed and ranging view of evidence than an ordinary citizenship case, but it's only once each 4 years, so the general/simple rule works fine for all but presidents-elect.
I'm not advocating changing the term, just advocating introduction of domicile for purposes of determining the state citizenship of the child.
US citizen yes, but not a NBC which is the unsettled legal issue.
>>>I wish Trump had never brought this up<<<
Why, because if he didn’t mention it the Democrats wouldn’t either? They have already said they will File Suit if Cruz is the Nominee. They mentioned this Months before Trump uttered one word about Cruz’s Eligibility.
In fact, they will probably File Suit if Rubio is the Nominee since his both his Parents were NOT U.S. Citizens when he was Born here.
My specialty is international law and real estate, so I don’t know the answer and don’t want to take a lot more time to study it. I am concerned about skipping over the requirement that our President being born in another country. I think the founders were concerned about that too.
If there was a lawsuit it will be filed based upon being Ted born outside the country. I believe the Dems may file if they think they have a reasonable chance of losing the general election to the Republican nominee. and depending on who is in the Vice President slot.
We are a debtor nation.
Anyway you can figure to pay for yourself is compassionate or if you choose to form a charity for others that is also compassionate.
Anything we do to direct funding to ourselves without exhausting our own assets is self serving and selfish.
Sure, we can maybe reduce prices some with reforms, but anytime you don’t point to yourself in the mirror for payment unless your assets are all exhausted, then you are demanding you be given charity while you have assets which is IMO socialism and unethical.
Just my opinion, you don’t have to agree.
I am concerned about skipping over the requirement that our President being born in another country.

being born in the US.
The Cruz case is easy to resolve. He was "naturalized" because his citizenship, although conferred at birth, exists only because of a statute. His parents have no evidence they were citizens of any state, so they can't petition a court to make a personalized finding to have Ted's citizenship attach outside of the statute, using just the constitution.
I have the same concern you do, and would not be surprised, if Cruz became president-elect, that he would "get away with it."
Meanwhile, being faithful to the constitution depends on the people, God love 'em, they are ignorant of the law, and easily fooled.

Of course they will, and depending on the outcome the PTB want, the precedents will either speak for themselves on the front page of every paper in the country, or be suppressed. It's a big enough issue to swing an election. All that without a court decision; and if a court rules on the merits, then the "front page" scenario plays.
Cruz is playing with fire, and he is lying about the issue being settled in his favor.
It will develop with the election.
We agree, but here we are.
No other President who admitted being born outside of US
http://www.presidentsusa.net/birth.html
Of course there was Chester Arthur.
“And then there’s this: Chester Alan Arthur lied about the year of his birth, until the day he died. And he refused to answer questions raised by the “birthers” of his time.”

Which intuitively contradicts "this issue is settled."
In all of history, this is a great time to be alive. So much information, so fast, so easy to get. Confusing and challenging to sort out, but at least it's possible to get the raw material.
Well thanks AuntB.
We are not picking a spiritual leader, but a secular leader who will simply follow the Constitution and lead. I like Cruz but he is a lawyer/politican more suited for the supreme court than president. Sadly a primary vote for Cruz is in effect a vote for Hillary.
>>>Try talking to people who arenât Republican primary voters<<
I have, out of ten people, Trump gets eight Votes. Two of those Votes come from former Obama Voters. The other two like Hillary, gaga me with a spoon.
Even my Apolitical Wife, her two Sisters and Mother are all in for Trump. My M-I-L hasn’t Voted in 20 Years, but she is Voting for Trump. They are also Hispanic, just for laughs.
I’m a Cruz guy, and when I asked those same People about Voting for him, NOT A ONE said they would.
Their big issue with Cruz, he’s that guy that shut down the Government. No matter how I try to give them the facts about that, they weren’t hearing it.
The Media did their Job in making Cruz look like the Grinch that stole Christmas.
hahahaha
Cruz is probably the finest debater I’ve seen in my lifetime. I don’t think there is any question that would throw him. So, I’m sure all the Dick Morris, Steve Hayes and George Will types, he won hands down.
Trump on the other is not the best debater in the technical sense, but in “who’s out there watching sense” he hits the right buttons.
I was saying in the earlier post that Cruz is a top debater, who frankly would NOT want to see up against my guy, Trump because Cruz grows on you, but so does Trump.
So, Cruz is Cruzing along, and then he steps into the New York values thing. And the first of answer is actually pretty good. He doesn’t back down. NEw York values, are abortion, gay marriage, secularism etc. Pretty good and hard to say no to that...
But then he gets slick and the smartassness comes out and he says very few conservatives some out of Manhattan...
Boom, Donald Trump, almost 30 years his senior, fires back.. Bill Buckley was from Manhattan. WOW!
The he masterfully weaves a from the heart answer about 911.
I’m sorry, Cruzers...you’re guy was doing great until that point...
I agree with you. We have a guy who will win New York. I don’t know how many deligates you get, but Trump will probably get them all.
