Rand Paul may not be in tonight's Republican debate but he did a media blitz of sorts yesterday, including hits on MSNBC, Fox, and CNN and ending with an extended interview on The Daily Show. Watch the two-parter below as the Kentucy senator swill bourbon with host Trevor Noah and says the federal government shouldn't be "able to tell you what you "smoke, eat, and drink."

Absolutely. And they shouldn’t be able to tax the so called “sin” items...alcohol, cigarettes. Nothing more than legal prohibition.
Gee, how did I know that you just signed up to FR?
>> Nor who to sleep with!
And the federal government (not the various states) should define marriage, right? So you can marry your homo lover, or your dog, or five of your friends, or your recliner, or whatever... right?
And the federal government should support a woman’s right to choose to murder her baby... right?
GO there, libtard. I dare you. Go there. Let it all hang out.
IBTZ.
Welcome to FR!
You are correct.
Sleep with whomever you want HOWEVER don’t DEMAND homosexual life styles be taught as normal in our schools. Don’t berate those if us who believe marriage is one man/one woman.
Don’t try to change tens of thousands of years of human existence to accommodate your “enlightenment.”
I notice you have no “about” page. Why don’t you tell us a little about yourself?
He posts a Rand Paul article. From Reason Magazine. And make a pro-queer comment in post #1.
That spells
l i b e r t a r i a n
to me.
I'm not aware of any recent cases where the federal government has tried to tell who you can sleep with.
PING!
>> That spells l i b e r t a r i a n to me.
Wow, you has AWESOME analytical skills, Cap’n O. :-)
Nanny State PING!
Go Rand!
Cooking dinner for mrs p6 so I posted to myself. No matter. Where is your “about” page? Tell us about yourself.
I actually agree with Rand Paul (who I can’t stand). But I do give him props on this.
Dittos: felt the same way about his dad.
Too little, too late. He got overly cozy with the GOPe and lost his dad’s story plot for much too long.
Many years ago I was a “card carrying, die hard” Libertarian party member.
Back then the movement had some really good ideas and goals. However, their first ( and most important goal ) was to legalize dope and drugs. After that was accomplished, they would move to matters of less importance.
Nothing else mattered for that was FIRST and everything would come under their guise after that.
After a couple of years I finally gave up on trying to convince anyone in the movement that other things were more important and until they could come up with a way to deal with more important issues, I would quit....which I did. I am now an independent.
Now the movement has got their dope and drugs and now focus upon us becoming a fully integrated nation with no borders and no national identity.
Rand Paul is the cheerleader of this movement today and does not deserve to wear the badge of a patriot...only that of a traitor to our way of life.
Fellow Freepers I posted this article mostly because I was amused by Rand Paul drinking bourbon with a liberal late night host and I liked what he had to say about government just leaving us alone. I guess my inclusion of government not telling us who we could sleep with was mistaken as a pro-homo comment: it was not as I find homosexuality a perversion (it’s an exit not an entrance).
Then I was questioned for not having an “About” or supposedly being new to Freep: I have nothing I choose to say about myself for “About” and I did just recently sign up again to be able to post & make comments again but I have been a Freeper since its first days (I remember when Drudge removed Freep for a period of time from his links).
I consider myself a classic Reagan Republican (he was the last person I voted for) with a strong small l libertarian and a heavy duty Catholic.
I oppose the death penalty save treason and then it should be done publically in Freedom Plaza on live tv.
I oppose abortion INCLUDING rape and incest save the life of the mother but I also oppose criminalizing it in any stage: change people’s hearts don’t punish them for horrible decisions.
I oppose marijuana LEGALIZATION because I don’t want the government regulating & taxing a herb but I oppose CRIMINALIZAION: punish behavior.
I despise all other illegal drugs, think they are evil but are a sickness that should be dealt with by treating users and punishing pushers.
I want my military to be second to none but when they need to be deployed it should be with a specific target which should be destroyed as quickly as possible and the mission should be clearly defined.
To me, marriage is and always will be between a man and a woman: government has no role in marriage other than to enforce any agreed to civil contract and to protect children. Otherwise, there should be no tax benefits, no license, no nothing that the government controls. Get married in any ceremony, church or setting you choose to whomever you choose, even a goat, but don’t expect me to recognize it if it ain’t between a man & a woman.
Jesus Christ is my savior but I also love the Jewish religion, Armenians and Luxembourgers: the USA only has three true allies, being Israel, Iceland and what’s left of the British Empire.
My favorite color is brown, my favorite food in Italian & Mexican. My favorite beer is whatever is on sale at the Wal Mart or Safeway.
My favorite talk radio gurus are Rush, Mark Levin and Michael Savage: I tolerate Ham Hammity and loath Glen Beck.
I also like WMAL’s Chris Plante, Larry O’Connor and Brian Wilson.
My favorite crime show(s) are Law & Order (especially Criminal Intent but not SVU so much — too many creepy sex crimes), Blue Bloods and Forensic Files.
I wish we could clone Reagan and bring him back as POTUS.
God Bless.
