BREAKING: Defense Secretary Slips Up, Reveals Obama Admin LED IRAN Straight to Our Sailors First came the fact that President Barack Obama refused to address the arrest of 10 of our sailors by the Iranian military after their boats had mechanical trouble at sea. Then came news that the Obama administration had offered the Iranians an apology for the release of the sailors.
Now comes the disturbing revelation, apparently delivered by Defense Secretary Ashton Carter, that the Obama administration tipped off the Iranians that our soldiers were lost at sea and requested their aid. The news came from Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, during an interview on TheBlazeâs Dana Loesch shortly after Iranâs arrest of the sailors had come to light.
âI understand that (Secretary of State) John Kerry has indicated, look, when he got word, he and Ash Carter called the Iranians to help take care of our Navy guys, because they had some mechanical problems,â Gohmert said.

I’ll tell you what happened (my best guess). One boat had trouble. The other boat stopped to help. Realized they couldn’t fix the issue at sea, so they radioed it in.
Their superiors realized there were on the other side of an international border. Thus, they could not send assistance with out “cross border authorization”, which would have to come from the Secretary of State. It goes up the chain of command. John Kerry makes the genius decision that he should ask his Iranian “buddies” to help out, because of course, they owe him a favor (he thinks). He notifies the Navy to tell the boats to stay put and to not resist the Iranians “rescuers” who will be coming by.
That explains why they didn’t just get on the other boat and hightail it, why there was no resistance to a boarding party, and why they didn’t follow standard procedures for captured soldiers. They had already received orders overriding all those normal procedures, and those orders could only come from John Kerry, because this was a cross-border situation in which he would have the final say.
I believe nothing that I’ve heard about this story except that maybe 10 American sailors were in the presence of Iranians for a time.

Bttt, that is exactly what happened, this was a blind delivery
Did Boat #1 have a towing rope?
Now THAT is a good comment!
Your right it doesn’t make any sense.
Perhaps they both filled up with the bio-fuels the Navy has been buying at ridiculously above-market costs and it wrecked the engines.
Bracken On Iran
This entire situation is in my area of expertise. I can state with complete confidence that both Iran and our own State Department are lying. The boats did not enter Iranian waters. They were overtaken in international waters by Iranian patrol boats that were so superior in both speed and firepower that it became a ââ¬Åhands up!ââ¬Â situation, with automatic cannons in the 40mm to 76mm range pointed at them point-blank. Surrender, hands up, or be blown out of the water. I assume that the Iranians had an English speaker on a loudspeaker to make the demand. This takedown was no accident or coincidence, it was a planned slap across Americaââ¬â¢s face.

The 2nd boat couldn't just tow the first boat, and head due West out of Iranian waters?
standard procedure would be to tow with no delay to a (safer) place.
It would make sense if the Iranians had jammed communications.
But both boats with similar catastrophic mechanical failures is hard to swallow, unless the water was fouled with something that plugged up the cooling systems..perhaps intentionally.
OMG! You have got to be effing kidding me? Our navy rules the straits and we called the effing Iranians on our own sailors? I’m going to have stroke.
I believe that Iran is holding an election in a few days, as well.
I would buy that explanation, but it seems to me that there is a item carried on most all boats, called a rope.
I do not buy a word of your theory
Cover up.
“Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever
Navigation, radio, power ALL lost on BOTH boats?”
Wikipedia shows that these boats have two engines and two water jets:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CB90-class_fast_assault_craft
I can’t imagine these boats would ever become dead in the water.
And their range is only 280 miles...which I presume means they never venture more than 140 miles from the launching ship. I would like to think that we have radar coverage, even detecting very small boats, within 140 miles of large ships...in the Persian Gulf, where the Iranians have been known to come close with speed boats.
I agree this is very weird. The initial reports said they were going from Kuwait to Bahrain. I’d bet that they weren’t on a prescribed mission/patrol, but were just moving equipment from point A to B...and weren’t really being ‘covered’ or tracked/known to be in the water/somebody’s responsibility, etc by any US ship in the Gulf.
I received an insightful comment from a Freeper that may have nailed this.
The theory is that this was scripted in order to show the cooperation between our two nations just days before we pay the Iranians $150,000,000,000 !!! That lines up with Kerry’s BS about cooperation. That lines up with this absurd story that they were “lost” with GPS or that both boats broke down.(they just showed up on time). It lines up with the girl sailor sycophantically covering her head with a scarf and staging the humiliating capitulation and “apology” for what? Just a theory. It better not be true.
