An illegal immigrant has confessed to killing American artist Ashley Olsen in her Italian apartment, who was punched and strangling her with a USB cord in a jealous 'drug-fueled' frenzy.
Cheik Tidiane Diaw, 25, told officers he strangled Olsen after the pair had sex when she told him he had to leave because her boyfriend was coming back.
The Senegalese man was caught because of DNA evidence from a used condom and cigarette found in the toilet - which he had tried to flush away unsuccessfully.
Italian police said they had to swoop on him quickly because they feared he was about to flee Florence.
The chief prosecutor said that the alleged murderer had initially given a false alibi to police when he was first questioned. He was freed but then re-arrested when his DNA was matched.
Olsen, whose funeral will be held in the Italian city tomorrow, suffered two fractures to the skull and was strangled with a USB cord.

I thought that was Iggy.
If somebody in my house gets treated like one of my dogs, there’s no cause to complain. My Great Dane has converted what was “my” couch into his and my Pitador has turned “my” bed into our bed. Mudslimes just have a hard time understanding what dogs’ proper places are in many American families.
“He treated me like a dog Mr. Wally!”
Someone should tell the Italian press that Rape and Murder are quite common. Consensual Sex and Murder? That one is having a hard time hunting.
Here is my suspicious: African Muslim dude jumps at the opportunity for consensual sex (hence the condom, probably at her insistence) with a Western girl.
Then she tells him afterwards that he has to leave because her boyfriend is coming back... whom he would probably assume is a Westerner. He was probably outraged that his conquest was just a one-off, either that or morally outraged that a slut turned out to be a slut. (he was drugged up)
I think Joan covered it. Iggy with...the Stooges??? I liked JJ’s version.
He may also have just raped her, using the condom to try and hide his DNA and then killed her to keep her from talking. Why would anyone give credence to anything this guy says? Maybe she was a moral sleaze, maybe not, but I doubt she deserved to die either way.
Keep in mind there are cameras all over the street/bar/apartment etc... This sounds like sudden passion/anger/rage/stupidity if you ask me. No mention of forced entry and the chick willingly invited the guy up to her apartment. Also, tension between her and her boyfriend. Wonder why, hmmm...
There's one to take home to Mom.
Right. Remember the actress in NYC who they said committed suicide. In fact, she had been murdered by an illegal and he set it up to look like she hanged herself.
And remember the wife of the Kennedy who they said committed suicide.
There are a lot of men on this site who have a negative opinion of women. I wonder why?
Actually if you read they say he tried to flush it, I don’t know why he didn’t stick around longer with the dead chick to finish the job.
If FR had a “Like” button, you’d have at least a thousand.
He could have used it to keep his DNA from being found. That’s probably why he tried to flush it down the toilet
I’d have to do a little more research but I’m pretty sure it’s an undisputed fact that she voluntarily left a bar with him and took him to her home. Also, I believe there is little doubt that before this night she had any idea who he was.
Now maybe she took him home to have tea and play monopoly. But I don’t think so.
Maybe this particular story is a kind of summation of exactly why “a lot” of men have a negative opinion of women?
As someone said upthread...a tired generalization, I know. But true. “Play silly games, win silly prizes”
I wonder where in Florence you can get a good looking burger like that?
Thanks Robert.
