If you thought some in the conservative media lost their minds over President Obama's birth certificate, you were right. But the current brouhaha over Ted Cruz's place of birth -- in which Donald Trump reprises his role as chief instigator -- might be even more compelling, in its own way, because of the civil war it has sparked on the right side of the press.
Witness this week's heated exchange on MSNBC (of all places) between conservative provocateur Ann Coulter and Republican media strategist Liz Mair. Coulter insisted that Cruz -- born in Canada but a U.S. citizen from the moment he left the womb, thanks to his mother's citizenship -- is not eligible to be president. Mair asserted with equal force that Cruz is eligible and at one point charged that Coulter is "in no way conservative." Card revoked!
(Coulter is an ardent supporter of Trump, the GOP presidential front-runner; Mair heads the anti-Trump super PAC Make America Awesome.)
And Coulter -- for those keeping score -- has changed her position on this subject. That's awfully convenient, since no one would stand to gain more from Cruz's disqualification than Coulter's favorite candidate.

Yup. With Obama we were all nuts. With Cruz it will perfectly legitimate to do all those things. In the minds of the public if Cruz is the nominee the only thing most people will know is that he was born in Canada.
Thank you B. If he won’t listen to a man of letters maybe he will listen to a fellow Texan and a conservative

Point is
As Tripe has said
It’s unsettle law
An easy out of court solution is to ask for a
Declarative Judgment.
That's the part that makes me nervous. Government won't acknowledge traditional marriage of that they have no legitimate authority to force an association on anyone like the did with Obamacare.
Do you seriously think they would stick with the definition that's existed with the founding, or do you think they would suddenly increase the pool for people eligible for the presidency by including an entire NEW group of foreign *natural born* citizens?
So we're supposed to throw Cruz overboard just because nasty Rats like Grayson will smear and/or sue him?
Talk about profiles in courage...
This is essentially what Cruz needs to do to get over this. Attack and attack until nobody dares to bring it up. Of course this might not work for him because it hasn't been his tactic since day one like Trumps.
You mean like his birth certificate?

I don’t know if you’ve seen this article, but it’s loaded with excellent info re the two acts:
Trumps sister is a close personal friend of Sam Alito. They severed on the appellate bench together ( with identical records) and she spoke on his behalf when nominated to the SCOTUS
What Trump would do is call up big sis or talk to her over the dinner table and ask her advice how to handle the situation !
Let’s look at the other side of the argument....
Your argument seems to refer to what judges of the past have decided on the matter.
However, as we know from Roe vs Wade and the Dredd Scott decision, Judges can be wrong.
I prefer, not to look at subsequent court decisions, which can be overturned, but the ORIGINAL INTENT of the fundamental law of our land.
Cruz — full name: Rafael Edward Cruz — was born in Calgary, Canada, in 1970. His family was living there because his father was working for the oil industry at the time. They moved when he was four. Cruz grew up in Texas and graduated from high school there, later attending Princeton University and Harvard Law School.
In 2013, the first-term senator — already considered a prospective presidential candidate — released his birth certificate, which shows his mother was born in Delaware and his father was born in Cuba. (A situation similar to Obama, whose mother was born in Kansas and father was African.)
Most legal scholars maintain that Cruz is in the clear despite his Canadian birthplace.
But is the issue 100 percent settled? Not exactly.
Three constitutional provisions are obvious:
1) The candidate must be 35 years of age and
2) a resident of the United States for 14 years.
3) The third qualification: He or she must be a “natural born citizen.”
What does it mean to be a “natural born citizen”?
Most legal experts contend it means someone is a citizen from birth and doesnât have to go through a naturalization process to become a citizen.
If that’s the definition, then Cruz is a natural born citizen by being born to an American mother and having her citizenship at birth. The Congressional Research Service, the agency tasked with providing authoritative research to all members of Congress, published a report after the 2008 election supporting the thinking that “natural born” citizenship means citizenship held “at birth.”
There are many legal and historical precedents to strongly back up this argument, experts have said.
Those precedents were the subject of a recent op-ed in the Harvard Law Review by two former solicitor generals of opposing parties, Neal Katyal and Paul Clement, who worked for Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush, respectively. They wrote that “natural born” had a longstanding definition dating back to colonial times.
British common law recognized that children born outside of the British Empire remained subjects, and were described by law as “natural born,” Katyal and Clement wrote.
“The framers, of course, would have been intimately familiar with these statutes and the way they used terms like ‘natural born,’ since the (British) statutes were binding law in the colonies before the Revolutionary War,’” they said.
Additionally, the first Congress of the United States passed the Naturalization Act of 1790, just three years after the Constitution was written, which stated that children born abroad to U.S. citizens were, too, natural born citizens. Many members of the inaugural Congress were also authors of the Constitution.
"Natural born" distinguishes from "Naturalized". There is no third category.
“Sen Cruz indeed should seek a declarative judgment...and soon. “
The conclusion after all this must be that Cruz has NO documentation to prove he is a US Citizen.
What is it? WHERE is it?
Aren’t we all required to have that in one form or another? What did he use when he attended school? I had to produce my birth certificate.
Hopefully we will have this cleared up soon.
A message from Mr. Williams:
Sworn statement and affidavit being released shortly
Freedom is not for the weak of mind or spirit.
Or he and others are working together to get a judgment that would also apply to O. Hmmm could be interesting!
From your trash link:
“In a campaign interview during his freshman senate race, a GOP Texas State Committee member sat down with the young candidate to ask a few poignant vetting questions, and here are the questions and answers from that interview⦠(Redacted information is to protect the witness at this moment, but the witness is willing to offer sworn testimony)”
You know what that’s called? It’s called BULLSHIT!
Plenty of lairs in the press have exalted themselves with their number of liar reports. They are still liars.
Ping me if you see notifications of either
I gave you the author’s email...you tell him it’s BS, I didn’t write it. Has Cruz objected?
Where were the Republicans when Obama presented that forged POS the media waved as his 'birth certificate'? Bending over pages in the cloakroom?
If you follwed my posting history you would kow that I agree with Tom Delay 100%. And this is what Trump is saying. The democrats are going to press this to the courts with all they got if Cruz is the nominee.
Ted should immediately file for declaratory relief and motion to expedite given the enormous consequences.
Screw Tribe, he should be strung up and flogged on the Mall.
No you write him and get the facts. He said in that BS peice that he won’t reveal who gave it to him. It’s complete BS written to hit Cruz in March 2015. And you followed right along with it. Shame on you. You should know better.
