Republicans appear more interested in having a "strong" and "bold" leader than a "true conservative."
According to the poll, Trump wins strong and bold hands down, while Cruz is seen as the true conservative. Rubio wins the title of "typical politician" and "establishment candidate" in YouGov's test of candidate descriptions.

These opinion polls always seem to have weird results. I'm convinced that most of them are driven by a biased agenda. My guess is there's a lot of GOPe donor money the Rubios and Jebs have to spend before they exit. So the news outlets are happy to accommodate.
See my question marks in green. |
After the crap pulled by the GOPe last night to sell out America, I say Go Trump!
Haley, Linda Graham and Gowdy will be steamrolled by Trump in
the SC primary.
“Republicans appear more interested in having a ‘strong’ and ‘bold’ leader than a ‘true conservative’.”
Will we ever be done with the low information Republican primary voter crowd? So, if these people tire of “strong” and “bold” do they move to “fat” and “loud” (you know who)?
I have faith that Trump will do the right thing by America and really would like to resurrect Norman Rockwell ... if he could
I'm pretty sure a LOT of us Trumpsters have that subliminal thought in our heads ...
A 1950's America ... factory whistles and all.
I am a Cruz guy.
Some good news for him(Cruz) in there too.
If either Trump or Cruz gets the nomination I’ll be a happy camper.
Interestingly, after being President, he served 9 years as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
That is a position that seems perfect for CRUZ
Been there concur with your opinion
Indeed, I can see that happening...
If the Elite Rino bastards consider themselves ‘Conservatives’, then the word loses its meaning. For me it boils down to Globalist or Nationalist. If ‘conservative’ now encompasses open borders and Corporate concerns over the needs of the working class, than I’m no longer a ‘conservative’.
The good news is that FReepers will buy anything a noob sells as long as it appears to be what their neighbors want.
As far as fat and loud is concerned, Rosie O’Donnell appears to have a bright future with the GOP.

Well said. It was the charming paragon of feminine grace, Whoopi Goldberg, who whined that Trump wants to bring America back to the 1950’s.
I say, if that’s so, bring it on!
The significance of this poll CANNOT BE UNDERSTATED:
It shows that as a tag-team, Trump/Cruz (or Cruz/Trump) get 75 PERCENT OF THE REPUBLICAN VOTE. The GOPe HAS LOST. The convention will not be brokered - either Cruz or Trump will run away with the delegates long before the GOPe knows what hit them.
Congratulations FReepers and others, WE HAVE JETTISONED THE GOPe. It is OVER for them.
I know, they won’t go away quietly, but if the 75% number holds, then THEY WILL go away.
Sad. Give it up. I’d rather have a “strong” guy I agree with 1/3 of the time-— but who only gets the 1/3 of the things we agree on DONE than a 100% “pure” conservative who can’t do anything.
>> I am a Cruz guy...If either Trump or Cruz gets the nomination I’ll be a happy camper.
Me too.
Indeed
Maybe eventually we’ll make the candidates have a coloring contest and whoever wins that, we will nominate them.
In all seriousness, it is the Obama effect. I will guarantee, or at least guess, that the biggest negatives Joe primary voter sees with Obama is they see him as weak and indecisive, or even cowardly. Heck, look at what Ralph Peters called him.
So therefore, strong and bold is the opposite of that, and so that is what we need. Even though Obama IS strong and bold when it comes to trying to fundamentally change the country to his liking.
And yes, conservatism loses again. Heck, even here people jump to Trump, rationalizing it as the purest conservative, Cruz, can’t win. But more than that, some here have even said what the establishment says. They say no conservative can win. Well, I guess that would be true if not even so called conservatives will support them. There is your pink elephant self fulfilling prophecy.
