WASHINGTON— Donald Trump stepped up his attack on Sen Ted Cruz’s eligibility to run for president Wednesday calling for Cruz to drop out of the race.

"Sadly, there is no way that Ted Cruz can continue running in the Republican Primary unless he can erase doubt on eligibility. Dems will sue!"
Trump recently warned the GOP that if Cruz becomes the nominee ,the party would be risking the White House. Trump claims Democrats would hold up the election in court, litigating whether or not Cruz is considered a natural born citizen.
Trump’s views on Cruz’s eligibility have changed throughout the campaign.
The first time he was asked about Cruz’s Canadian birth in 2013, Trump, the loudest ‘birther’ questioning the legitimacy of President Barack Obama citizenship, wasn’t sure if Cruz was qualified. Trump was still not convinced last March, months before announcing his own bid for president. By September, Trump said he was confident Cruz had the legal standing to run.

I don’t know. To me the GOP are the ones who walk and talk like democrats.
They were dismissed due to cowardice and corruption of black robed traitors.
Trump could play this numerous ways, depending on what his motives are.
Way 'A', if he wants to vet Cruz for a potential VP, would be take do so privately directly with Ted, and make a plan that does not burn any bridges, for Ted, nor for Ted's supporters.
Or, Way 'B', by burning bridges. As he is doing, but going very public, daily, with constant jibes.
It's more like, to me, Trump is trying to blow himself up.
Each voter is going to decide if that is NBC or not. Cruz will say it is.

They married in 1936 and settled in Jamaica Estates, and Mr. Trump went on to become one of the city's biggest developers.

From July:
The Won held the trump card, the race card. Cruz holds no such card. It was cool for people to vote for a Kenyan guy. No one would think it’s cool to vote for a Canadian guy.
Just a point about the 1790 law that Cruz sites to defend his position, and which contains a clause which defines ‘natural born citizen’. It’s unclear from a simple reading of the language, whether it requires both parents to be citizens or just one. In addition, that law was repealed by the immigration act of 1795 and which includes no language defining ‘natural born citizen’.
As far as I know, the 1790 law is the only legislation that contains any attempt to define what a natural born citizen is, whether it requires one parent or two to be a citizen is unclear, and it ended up getting repealed 5 years later.
It can be reasonably argued that Congress realized that under Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution, Congress is given the power to make uniform laws on naturalization and that this power did not include the power to decide who is included or excluded from being a presidential Article II "natural born Citizen." While Congress has passed throughout United States history many statutes declaring who shall be considered nationals and citizens of the United States at birth and thereby exempting such persons from having to be naturalized under naturalization laws, at no time except by way of the short-lived "natural born" phrase in Naturalization Act of 1790 did it ever declare these persons to be "natural born Citizens."
The uniform definition of "natural born Citizen" was already provided by the law of nations and was already settled. The Framers therefore saw no need nor did they give Congress the power to tinker with that definition. Believing that Congress was highly vulnerable to foreign influence and intrigue, the Framers, who wanted to keep such influence out of the presidency, did not trust Congress when it came to who would be President, and would not have given Congress the power to decide who shall be President by allowing it to define what an Article II "natural born Citizen" is.
Additionally, the 1790 act was a naturalization act. How could a naturalization act make anyone an Article II "natural born Citizen?" After all, a "natural born Citizen" was made by nature at the time of birth and could not be so made by any law of man.
No. Trump is not trying to blow himself up.
Trump is obviously and clearly trying to win, which is what he has plainly stated is his goal.
Trump is not a dishonest guy. He tells you exactly what he’s going to do, and then he does it.
But still there are people who think oh no he’s secretly doing this or this or he’s working for this person or that person and on and on.
He’s trying to secure the nomination, simple as that.
Still way better than the Cruz’s or Obama’s history. Besides, that was just my initial offer.
The alternative is to amend the constitution to admit naturalized citizens. Naturalized citizens swear an oath and must renounce citizenship in all other countries. On a basis of “credentials,” a naturalized citizen has a better claim to lack of conflict than a native born NBC, who can be a dual citizen according to most, has.
I am for CRUZ all the way but in the event Trump won the nomination I would have backed him all the way, not anymore, after this, I see him as “backstabber.” He knows what he is creating and its far from what I expect, sounds like something that would come from the Clintons and not a Republican.
Tear him up CRUZ!
What an over used phrase to the point it has lost all meaning. Really, what Trump is doing is nothing more than a mild campaign tactic. Which, incidentally, heard on Rush today that Cruz supporters have been hitting the phones taking a poll as to the 7 worst things they could say about Trump - which is in itself simply calling folks with the 7 worst things they could could say about Trump. Alinsky? No way, just politics.
So, to be more precise about my claim about Trump speaking out: Trump only started 'speaking out' - as in his rallies - this January, as best as I can tell. I have seen all of his rally speeches. Plus, Trump has started on Cruz's donor class connection in the last few rallies.
Again, is any of this real Alinsky? Not really. This isn't even dirty tricks stuff.
Which state issued the birth cerificate? Or was it a Consular Record of Birth Abroad?
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing.
“Trump still is a Democrat. At least he walks and talks like one.”
Oh, absolutely. Every time I see one of his speeches, I can’t help but think: “Look! What a democrat!” - especially when he goes on against political correctness, and talks about being pro-second amendment and anti-abortion. Also, it’s SOOOO like a democrat to say: “Obama lives in another world!” and attack the media for being biased and evil. And haven’t I been hearing democrats, for years, claiming we should build a wall to keep illegals out? That’s one of their pet projects, for sure!
But, yep. Trump’s a democrat. No doubt.
Go Cruz!

More and more it's looking like Ted was right on the money about Donald jumping the shark.
If Trump is a Democrat he would be more of a JOB Democrat. Jfk would be to the right of many Republicans today.
