WASHINGTON— Donald Trump stepped up his attack on Sen Ted Cruz’s eligibility to run for president Wednesday calling for Cruz to drop out of the race.
Donald J Trump
@realDonaldTrump
"Sadly, there is no way that Ted Cruz can continue running in the Republican Primary unless he can erase doubt on eligibility. Dems will sue!"
Trump recently warned the GOP that if Cruz becomes the nominee ,the party would be risking the White House. Trump claims Democrats would hold up the election in court, litigating whether or not Cruz is considered a natural born citizen.
Trump’s views on Cruz’s eligibility have changed throughout the campaign.
The first time he was asked about Cruz’s Canadian birth in 2013, Trump, the loudest ‘birther’ questioning the legitimacy of President Barack Obama citizenship, wasn’t sure if Cruz was qualified. Trump was still not convinced last March, months before announcing his own bid for president. By September, Trump said he was confident Cruz had the legal standing to run.

About half the caucus goers don’t even know Cruz was born in Canada. Should they know that before they pick a candidate?
Well let’s say Cruz does win the nomination. What will the Dims do? Will they make it an issue? Will they sue as Trump says? Would it go to the Supreme Court? How would the Court rule? And what would happen if he were found to be ineligible? How would a new nominee be selected?
If he’s smart he will laugh it off!!
Bully Boys Hate That!!
It will be interesting seeing how Cruz responds to this. I’ll bet the response will mostly consist of a nervous chuckle and a few words about how his mother was an American when he was born.
Hopefully, the next wonderboy Republican heiress will be less of an unbearable hump.
If heâs smart he will laugh it off!!

Perhaps it’s time for Cruz to address this in a formal way.
Cruz is my favorite and I have never criticized Trump as he is my second choice, but it may be that those who have said Trump would eventually implode might have been right.
Trump was doing great by sticking to the most important issues. He should drop the issue of Cruz’ qualifictions and get back to what he was doing best.
Trump must believe that Cruz is gaining a lot of traction.
Lord what a joke. You expect Trump to play the game the old way? All that does let the other side win.
This is a street fight and that is what Trump is, playing by his rules. I don’t care how he does it I want him to win.
Trump is J.R. Ewing, Asa Buchanan and Max Hershel all rolled into one. America loves a good villain and Trump is the bad boy we all like.
Please show us where Trump is imploding??
Nor do they know that Cruz only renounced his Canadian citizenship about 18 months ago.
“Trump âreeksâ of, if you stand in my way you get punched in the nose.”
So the opposite of every GOP candidate since 1992?
So if the Mouth is so sure Cruz is not qualified to run why doesn’t the fool file a suit himself?
Come on Donald, quit your bitching put your money where your mouth is...
See how that works for you.

Dittoes.
And while Trump is doing that - hey! How’s about he release all the intel he has from 2012 on Obama’s birth records???
He said then that he has that info. Where is it?
Perhaps a lovely whte tie dinner. Yes by jove thats it!
Do they know that Trump was a Democrat?
Not this one and I had been very open to happily voting for Trump, if Cruz wasn’t the nominee but that is no longer the case. I’m done with Trump. Done.
“Why do people not see that Trump is using the same Alinsky tactics that Dems use?”
Of course he is. What’s wrong with using tactics that work? Better than the usual taking the high road and losing. We need a fearless leader, willing to take in the left.
Those on the fence.

A Democratic member of the U.S. House vowed Thursday to file a lawsuit challenging Sen. Ted Cruz’s Constitutional eligibility to become president.
Rep. Alan Grayson, Florida Democrat, said the issue is not political but Constitutional and that he will file a suit “if and when he becomes the nominee and tries to qualify for the ballot” in November.
Yes and I like it.
