ANDREW BREITBART: Donald Trump Is Not A Conservative (2011)
Business Insider ^ | Apr. 23, 2011 | Steven Loeb

Posted on 01/12/2016 11:26:35 AM PST by justlittleoleme

Appearing on the O'Reilly Factor last night, with guest host Juan Williams, radio host Leslie Marshall and conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart agreed that a potential Donald Trump candidacy is a bad sign for America.

Marshall warned America about what happens when you elect a celebrity for office like they did in California with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"No experience, a lot of celebrity and a lot of cult of personality. And we see more of that in politics. So I would say don't underestimate the Donald.

-snip-

"Quite frankly, this celebrity goes a long way. Remember, the number one reason people vote for a candidate, Juan, is name recognition. He has huge name recognition."

Breitbart also did not seem to be a fan of Trump either, saying "he is not a conservative." He also had a warning for Republicans if they don't get their act together.

"Celebrity is everything in this country. And if these guys don't learn how to play the media the way that Barack Obama played the media last election cycle and the way that Donald Trump is playing the election cycle, we're going to probably get a celebrity candidate."

But Donald Trump is REAL! I believe he means to do exactly as he has told us he’s going to do.
He's real because you believe... However, there's no real evidence that your belief is indeed correct. However, there's a mountain of evidence that your belief is most likely incorrect. He's flip-flopped more in just the last few months than most politicians survive - let alone all the other flip-flops in his not so distant past.

Remember that time Breitbart criticized and really despised Tucker Carlson, right here on FR?

Look how that ended up.

Really, you doing Trump a favor by “clearing the air” now, instead of waiting for Hillary to bring it up. He should thank you!

Well now you did...Breitbart’s going to be labeled a fraud, schmuck, and liar just like Levin, Limbaugh, Malkin, and other prominent Conservatives for pointing out the sad truth.

Yep, I hope the Trumpets take the bait.

Absolutely correct. All this nonsense of who is the worst conservative or the true conservative, is silly.

We all know we don’t want the best liberal in office, and should work to ensure that doesn’t happen.

Yep. A good portion of FR seemingly has redefined “conservatism” as “whatever Trump says this week”.

I agree. Two years ago, I would called you crazy if you told me a non-conservative like trump would get a toe hold here.

"Failure to understand Trump’s appeal to great swaths of Americans demonstrates obedience to PC elitism."

Oh, we understand Trump's appeal. This about sums it up.

Breitbart had congenital cardiomyopathy

That he smoked and drank like the Irishman he was probably made no difference

I understand how this goes given I have had similar issues first noticed in my 20s

PC is a two edged sword. It is used as often by establishmentarians as by anti establishment types trying to protect their turf. Are the eds at Brietbart PC elitists? Yes, sometimes.

When will Trump clear this up? That is, during his trip with Bill Clinton and the pedophile - now that’s what people are saying that Donald was with them - did Trump give Bill money then while they were on the island with all the weird perverted things going on? When will Trump answer this question? Yes, he’s a celebrity, but doesn’t he have to answer these questions now that they’re in the public domain and now that so many people are demanding answers? You know we want to help him with his campaign. Come clean, Donald.

In terms of “celebrity” Reagan by 1966 was a relic of the forties and more recently a narrator for a long running western TV series. Same with his good friend and California senator George Murphy. Neither had the kind of name recognition that Trump has cultivated, nor was theirs based on the kind of borderline risque (owner of Miss USA and Universe with serial blonde bombshell trophy wives anyone?) Richie Rich lifestyle. Reagan’s kind of celebrity was something he had to overcome to be taken seriously, so in that respect there may be some similarity. But, forgive the bluntness, beyond that Donald Trump doesn’t amount to a pimple on Ronald Reagan’s a$$.

Trump and many of his supporters want to destroy the Republican Party and are willing to destroy all other candidates to get him in the Oval Office. Watch Breitbart in the clip that is the subject of this thread and you’ll understand Trump better.

“he is also a quick study that can likely get up to speed with the federal governments constitutionally limited powers in no time”

I wouldn’t hire someone to work for me that said “I’m not qualified but I’m a quick study”. I sure as hell am not going to vote for a President like that!

To Cruz’s credit I believe the GOPe hates Cruz WAY more than they do Trump.

For Mitch the Turtle and McLame this is personal against Cruz.

How many times was Trump on pedophile island with B Clinton?

You have some proof he was there even once?

Oh what a condition the GOP finds itself in. They “control” Congress but their leaders are actually Democrats, as is their front runner for president in 2016. And the great “conservative hope” in second place? He was born in Canada, his citizenship subject to our immigration and naturalization laws, instead of to nature, and therefore isn’t even qualified constitutionally to be president.

”I wouldn’t hire someone to work for me that said “I’m not qualified but I’m a quick study”. I sure as hell am not going to vote for a President like that!”

The problem is that, with the exception of Harvard Law School-indoctrinated Cruz, none of the candidates seem to have a clue about the federal governments constitutionally limited powers.

So The Donald is not a conservative. So cuffing what?
So there you have it... Explains a lot. At least you're honest.
The Donald supporters showing up are, by and large, not conservative Republicans, and more importantly, not voting in the primaries. But they will be there in November for the general election, and The Donald is already playing for THAT prize.
Wonder how that's going to work... If the Donald's supporters don't show up in the primaries, then wouldn't logic suggest that there will be no Donald left to vote for in the General?

But thanks anyway for clarifying who the Donald's supporters are, and are not.

By the way... Didn't FR use to be a conservative website?
