Mom Becca Edwards is "pissed" about a racist remark that her state's governor made, and she's calling him out on it, offering her own biracial family as an example of how very wrong he is.
Maine Gov. Paul LePage issued his offensive comment at a town hall meeting in Bridgton on Jan. 6 while speaking about the influx of heroin in the Pine Tree State. "These are guys with the name D-Money, Smoothie, Shifty -- these types of guys -- they come from Connecticut and New York, they come up here, they sell their heroin, they go back home," the Republican blasted.
"Incidentally, half the time they impregnate a young white girl before they leave, which is a real sad thing because then we have another issue we have to deal with down the road."
Though the crowd at the town meeting didn't immediately react, social media's response was swift -- and seething. The Portland Press Herald reports that Marlon Marshall, Hillary Clinton's director of state campaigns and political engagement, issued a statement calling LePage's comments "racist rants," while Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett dubbed them "outrageous" and Michael Tyler, the Democratic National Committee's director of African-American media, declared them "disgusting."
But in Edwards's now-viral Facebook response, the self-described "white girl in Maine," took it one step further and called for LePage's ouster. "Last week the governor in Maine, my state, suggested to the world that if one were to see me (the white girl) and my daughter (the biracial girl) walking down the street, that she is a product of my involvement with a drug dealer from out of state. And even worse, that she wasn't wanted," wrote the mother in her Jan. 9 post, which has been shared more than 216,000 times in just two days.

Bless her heart! I’m sure the perpetually offended just can’t help but be what they are. Does obamacare cover this affliction?
From the article...
“Edwards — who didn’t respond to Yahoo Parenting’s request for comment — revealed that she has a master’s degree and “an excellent job in health care,” and that her “daughter’s father (the black guy) is....wait for it...my husband!” “Even more crazy,” she continues, “he’s not a drug dealer! What?!? He’s a well-educated man with an excellent job in education, in fact. And our daughter, was so wanted. Do me a favor and share this status to show the world what the picture of a biracial family in Maine really looks like, and that we do not support the ignorant (expletive) that is our governor. âª#âimpeachlepageâ¬.”

Your girl is unraveling again.
Perhaps you can learn the difference. ALL vs. SOME.
“Incidentally, half the time they impregnate a young white girl before they leave ...”

Likewise Laz, perhaps you can learn the difference between SOME and HALF.
Full disclosure....though she does not live in Maine, on a distant branch of my family tree there is a young woman who got knocked-up by a druggie who was “visiting” from Boston. She is now on welfare. So the Gov is not entirely off-base here.
I am more likely to agree he’s an idiot over the fact that he does not know how to use a pocket veto.
True. Check out the baby in the carriage that the white woman/girl is pushing down the sidewalk outside any given public housing project. Odds are that the child within does not have quite the same melanin makeup as the person pushing the carriage.
Is my statement somehow inaccurate?
Sometimes he puts his foot in his mouth.
But he's been a one-man army against the army of Democraps trying to turn Maine into Massachusetts.
I know many young women who get knocked-up and the fathers are not drug dealers.
you did not answer my question. Do you know this family or are you assuming they are beautiful based on looks, i.e. white women with a half white/black kid?
I could look at any family phtos and say they are beautiful , but I don’t know them and for all I know they could be associated with the Manson family.

LePage’s comments were stupid.
Edward’s comments are irrelevant.
I know two white women with half white kids and both are on welfare while the guy has gone.
The governor used hyperbole, an exaggeration.
That dope peddlers are coming up from Ct. and NY is probably true.
Each one individually can judge whether they see his remarks as racist; I am not so sure.
Nothing pisses off a democrat like the truth.
I agree with your text, but it is completely apart from the topic we are discussing.
That is exactly what he should have said. However, by bringing the hypothetical girl's race into it, he made the story about race. He covertly stated that there is something wrong with being biracial.
Starting trouble I see.
Then obviously the governor wasn’t talking about this intact “family”.
The governor is dead right. The truth hurts, so political correctness was invented to mask the truth.
