Orban added that Hungary is in the right on the refugee issue and that migration into Europe must be completely stopped.

That does not go far enough. All legal migrants and immigrants from the past decade who have not both assimilated and gained citizenship should be deported back to their home countries. All illegal migrants and immigrants should be deported, no matter how long they have been in Europe (or in the United States) or how much they claim to have assimilated.

Be honest- did you ever think you’d see the day when the press in Hungary has more freedom to report the truth than the press in Germany or France?

I’m with you.

I worked with a Hungarian family, who came over after the war.

You will never find a more hard-working, patriotic bunch if you went from sea to shining sea.

Good, solid people.

I hope the world is ready for truth to trump (no pun intended) political correctness ...

When the Muslims kick the Volksdeutsche out of Germany, maybe the Poles will let bygones be bygones and be kind enough to allow them to move back into Silesia and Pomerania as their guests.

Actually Merkel is a Lutheran from East Germany.

Her whole family were religious resisters against Communism.

When she came to power she was the head of the “center right” Christian Democratic Union. I know its a relative term and exactly where in the spectrum of German political parties it lies now who knows but if she was a commie why didn’t she head a more leftist party? She sounds like a wolf in sheeps clothing. Trying to think of an analogy we might understand. Maybe if McCain had become President and then went crazy left even though being a nominal pub.

I am not a fan of Merkel because I think --- as we all do --- that she made a huge mistake with opening the borders to the Hijra. Even after the disastrous results started rolling in, she seems to be very slow on the uptake that her policy needs not just to be modified, it needs to be reversed.

However, and unsettling as it may be, she is neither a leftist nor a secularist. She has explicitly (and under unforced circumstances) stated that the Christian concept of the human person is the essential foundation for human rights: note that, not the "Enlightenment" concept, not the merely "Western" concept, but the "Christian" concept.

Not leftist, not secularist, nor is she stupid. It is rather amazing to me to see her flailing around now, sounding compromised, confused and clueless when, really, she should know better.

Germany has had a mutually beneficial relationship for decades with Turkish "guest workers" who were respectable, law-abiding, working people. The German workforce depends on the 1st and 2nd generation descendants of these Gastarbeiter. Merkel has perhaps had trouble realizing that this is a whole 'nother thing.

Merkel's learning curve may be steep, but she will --- I predict --- get rid of the predators and parasites. I hope she can still extend welcome to the true innocents and allies: the Christians, the Yazidis and the tough, anti-ISIS Kurds.

The big, BIG underlying problem, is that German's birth rate and fertility rate have been cratered for 40+ years. They made the world's most obvious existential mistake: failure to procreate. They have very few young Germans. They are perhaps the first --- but will not be the last --- nation to commit suicide by contraception.

They have foolishly thought they could build a German future on Turks.

Yes he has a nice way with words. I like the guy. There is a tread about a Hungarian trucker driving the last few clicks to the tunnel. He a pretty good wordsmith too. Let me know if you’ve seen it. If not I’ll find it a ping you to it.

I fully agree with you and its funny years ago she said that Multiculturalism is a mistake and even admitted that there were migrants who were causing problems now she does a 180, there is something going on, either she has an onset of dimentia, or she is being controlled from behind the scenes, something does not smell right.

What I learned from that video is that Hungarian is the best “swearing” language in the world.

I didn’t know that about Merkel (per your 2nd paragraph). Why would that be ‘unsettling?’

Because it’s easier to think she’s just a dumb leftist secularist. That she is none of those, is disturbing. It means you have to dig deeper for explanations.

I love Hungarians.

One of my favorite math professors in grad school was a Hungarian, who had years before been an officer in the Austro-Hungarian Army. He used to say that he had to learn English because there were only ten million speakers of Hungarian in the world, and most of them lived in Hungary.

I personally think Merkel could still turn this policy around --- her party coalition, esp. the CDU, certainly wants her to --- and she may be forced in the next Parliamentary elections, whenever they are.

I just wouldn't want to boot her out, and get a gd Socialist in her place.

‘Has Trump emboldened everyone? or did he simply see the trend early and jump in front of it?’

Let’s put it this way — I used to be one of the boldest voices online. People called me a wacko, a kook, etc. Talk radio hosts would cautiously read my posts and never ever want to be associated with such a fanatic. Eager to rake me over the coals in fact without actually saying my name. A little ‘insurance’ policy for them, and I don’t blame them. Those were cautious years [and sometimes those scoldings were richly deserved regardless].

When I heard Trump call for a ban specifically targeting Muslims? That shocked EVERYONE. When conservatives backed him up, the Drive-By Media was horrified.

You will not find a harsher, better known critic of the Euro-Trash Establishment than Trump ever since that policy announcement. He is their arch-enemy right now. The House of Commons — if you hadn’t heard, you would not BELIEVE how they go after him.
