"Why not rally around me? Why not rally around Rick Santorum?"
Mike Huckabee said Thursday that it's "rather childish" for Ted Cruz to suggest candidates drop out of the race to ensure the conservative voice isn't splintered.
Iowa radio host Simon Conway said Cruz's warning that a split in the conservative vote would allowing a moderate Republican to win the nomination could be directed at Huckabee and Santorum.
Huckabee replied, "Well, I mean, that is certainly something he is going to want to say, but my question would be, why not rally around me? Why not rally around Rick Santorum?"
"I mean when one candidate starts telling other candidates where they should be in this race, I'm just thinking, frankly, you're not the reason I got into the race, and you're not going to be the reason I get out, it to me sounds rather childish to start telling people that they ought to get out of the race, to make room for someone else," the former Arkansas governor and Republican presidential candidate said.
Huckabee added, "I just know that we're getting good reactions where we go, and I know that before Christmas we polled 5,000 people in Iowa and 75 percent of whom said they haven't made up their minds and Simon you've been around this process long enough, as his I and I know this, that Iowans just don't make up their minds with analyses until it's close to the caucus."
He’s still running? Really?
Cruz has no business telling anyone that they should drop out, you know, since he’s not qualified to be POTUS and all.
With Pataki out of the race, Huckabee may be the most liberal guy running - including Trump.
OK, then. How about just dropping out because you don't have a chance in the world. Plus you'd save a lot of your supporters' hard-earned money.
I thought he did drop out.
Get real, man. Cruz is doing you a favor.
Me too!!!
Childish? No. Huckabee has every right to stay in the race. Lately, however, he is the one looking childish by attacking Cruz unfairly. But hey, it’s a free country. He and his supporters can stay as long as they want.
When Cruz ‘fails’ to accomplish the goal of bringing the country to it’s knees because ‘God Is Punishing America’ (by handing yet another election to communist democrats), he, too, will be yesterday’s garbage like Huckabee & Santorum.
Maybe that’s how that base gets the frenzied desperation they do. The candidate gets one shot. If they ‘fail’, they’re ‘dead’.
God won’t be mocked.
Actually it make him the childish one because he has lower support from Conservatives so wouldn’t the adult thing to do is conceed to the person with more Conservative support. Hanging on with no chance of winning make him the childish one
Huck, didn't your mama ever recommend that you not ask a question that you really don't want answered?
“Because Cruz is polling at 28%. You’re at 2% and Santorum is at 0%.
Give it up.”
Bingo. Exactly right.
It will all be over Feb. 9th. Trump will win New Hampshire even if he loses Iowa to Cruz. The only way to stop Trump is Assassination, “Accident” or...
You’re probably right.
Huckabee proved that he, not Cruz, is the “childish” one.
Why not rally around Huckster or Santoram? Because they are polling under 2%, COMBINED.
In my book, Huckabee is an outright depraved and evil man. He proved this with his behavior after Maurice Clemmons, the sociopath he sprung from prison, murdered 4 police officers in cold blood.
Huckabee lied through his teeth about his involvement in Clemmon’s release and went on Comedy Central the night of the funerals for the officers. He has no cosnsciece at all,
“The only way to stop Trump is Assassination, âAccidentâ or...”
That’s a pleasant thought...NOT!
Sounds like a better plan than the Cincinnati Bengals...lol. 0-6 in the playoffs? IMHO, that coach should have been gone at 0-3.
