The first shots exploded around 9:40 p.m.
On Sept. 11, 2012, a group of local fighters, AK-47s in hand, burst through the fortified front gate of a US outpost in Benghazi, Libya.
One very long night later, the diplomatic compound was engulfed in flames and a covert CIA base a mile away lay in ruins, partially reduced to rubble by mortar fire. Four Americans were dead, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens and two CIA members.
What happened in between is covered in "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi," a new film from "Transformers" director Michael Bay in theaters Friday.
It focuses on a team of six military contractors who happened to be stationed at the CIA base when the fighting broke out. They chose to join the battle, spending more than half a day repelling attackers.
The movie is based on the book "13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi" by Mitchell Zuckoff and that team of operatives.
"That's the reason we did the movie," one of the contractors, ex Marine Mark Geist, tells The Post. "No one has talked about those 13 hours and what happened."
Not that certain people haven't been trying to find out. The incident has become one of the most highly politicized events in modern US history. Who was to blame for the debacle? Republicans have been hellbent on pinning it on then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

We saw an interview with the guys from the CIA compound that went after Chris Stevens and the others a while back and it sure looks like the movie shows exactly what they described and the sequence of events. So, did the people they rescued all sign non-disclosure documents? Have any of them stepped forward?
My guess is that any such documents that may have been signed would have been under duress, and more accurately be described as THREATS to their liberty, lives and the safety of their families.
Well I have faith that our transparent govt would never do anything to threaten them. NOT! Implied, at least, that they may want to consider NOT talking about the video caused event. Uh, what video? Nobody ever said anything about a video.
Yeah, what we need is dramatizations, with the music building up behind tough talking actors standing rigid against a backdrop of fake exploding shrapnel.

How about Hollywood FIRST getting behind an effort to convict and incarcerate the culprits and derelicts, and then go make an effing movie about it?
Zero and his Adminstration have a yellow streak running down their backbones. But, this one takes the cake, by far the worst of the worst. The rule used to be “Never leave or abandon your fellow servicemember in harms way.” The current policy in this Adminstration is “Whern the SHTF, you are on your own.” There are only four words to describe anyone who follows or permits this outragious action - dirty, rotten, scumbag, cowards.

I don’t know if you saw the interview from the guys that did the fighting but from what I’ve seen in the previews, the movie holds pretty true to their story. I’m surprised “somebody” didn’t try to stop it’s release. Even though it’s supposedly focusing on the men who went to the rescue and not the political side, the implied comment is pretty obvious. With any luck (not holding my breath) she’ll be indicted by the end of the spring.

I plan to see the film. I read the book, which was exciting.
They know the powers that be will KILL their wives, children, siblings and/or parents if they tell all they know. That is my opinion.
The Clintons have many tentacles that are ready to do their bidding at any time and place.....EVIL to the bone and beyond.
