SEOUL - The United States deployed a B-52 bomber on a low-level flight over its ally South Korea on Sunday, in a show of force following North Korea's nuclear test on Wednesday.
The B-52, based in Guam, was joined by two fighter planes, one American and one South Korean, before returning to Guam, the US military said in a statement.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
More humane that playing K-pop over loudspeakers
B-52? As in one? Yes, that is an impressive eight jet engines but it is still just one plane. And it is the latest 1950s technology.

Could be carrying a bunch of cruise missiles, though, yes?
And that photo would have been all the more impressive of the Titan I missiles and silo’s and their guidance systems had a better than 50% reliability record.
then again, did they NEED a 99% reliability record, if the Russian missile were even worse?
Yes, the only thing still 1950s about it is the silhouette but if this is the response to the latest NK nuclear jump then it is a very lame response indeed. Typical of the era of Obambi.
You can get more than several nukes on one, cant you?
One bomber is not a show of strength. The Obama regime should review footage of our display of airpower right after the surrender documents were signed on the USS Missouri. That was a display of airpower. Hint to the administration: It occurred on September 2, 1945 over Tokyo Bay.
According t oWIkipedia
“A total of 194 B-52Gs and Hs were modified to carry AGM-86s, carrying 12 missiles on underwing pylons, with 82 B-52Hs further modified to carry another eight missiles on a rotary launcher fitted in the bomb-bay.”
And apparently each missile carries one of “The W80 is a small thermonuclear warhead (fusion or, more descriptively, two-stage weapon) in the U.S. enduring stockpile with a variable yield of between 5 and 150 kt of TNT.”
Airframe construction, IR signature, radar and visual stealth, ability to endure for decades which the newer airframes don't.
Active Duty ping.
Just biuld and launch twice as many.

Have you seen the Nork’s 1950’s era sub? Even display of technology.
War, real war.
The airframe is the only 1950’s thing in a contemporary B-52.
N. Koreans know it is an empty posturing. This impresses nobody.
