Because I sincerely hope that someone frequenting the FRee Republic website wins the power ball drawing tonight, especially a monthly donor and because that winner will be an (almost) instant billionaire, I am offering some sound advice on how to handle the situation.
Go ahead and bail out your small town, but don’t expect any government to stick to an agreement of any sort. They simply do not. Oh it will be on down the road, but they will break any agreement.
My fantasy involves owning son land in a temperate place and gardening a few acres.
Thatâs a good reminder and yet one more reason to not go too crazy with ticket buying. Your 1 in 300,000,000 chance might be 0 in 300,000,000.

My chances are already 0 in infinity, even if I buy tickets.
I live in Illinois, where they pay out in I.O.U s.
I guess everyone has the same odds- somebody has to win— ya never know—lol
Somebody’s going to win, though, so hope springs eternal. I’ve been known to give in and buy one from time to time. So long as it’s pocket change to you, there’s no harm done in my opinion. There are far worse things you could be blowing money on, and it’s nice to dream.
Oh yes, that’s right. Have they paid all their IOU’s yet?
Yes - an earlier post said to ask some friends if they could borrow 2,000 from them. See if those ‘friends’ are willing to help someone out. If not...well...
That is such a good suggestion.
if one is single and win the lottery do not get married to anyone soon. In fact wait 5 years.
if one is single, tell ones shack up partner to get out
don’t get anyone knocked up. Gold diggers love wealth.
Get a pre-nup if one decides to get married after winning the big money lotto
and last, don’t sign power of attorney over to anyone after winning the lottery. Remember, Florida lottery winner Abraham Shakespeare got murdered after doing that.
I want this for my house that I bought with my lottery win.
Or that person could make Jim a great offer for the site and take it over. Let him retire. He deserves it.

Way ahead of you. I already have a list of people I’m gonna zot.
If I didn't trust my spouse I wouldn't be married to him.
If you don't trust your spouse, why are you still married?
There was a story in New York some years ago about someone winning a $20M jackpot in a Pick-6 drawing. I believe that was the largest jackpot in New York history at the time. The following week, there was a new jackpot of several million dollars that got split so many ways that each winner got less than $10,000. The winning numbers were a sequence like 5-10-15-20-25-30 or something like that, and there were literally hundreds of people who played that exact same set of numbers.

I would invest heavily in houses and lots.....
Whore houses and lots of whiskey.
My sister knows someone who won the Florida lottery years ago. They had every family member and friend asking for money all the time. If they accepted every request they would have given it all away. They finally had to move to a gated community to get away from everyone. That is how my sister met them, they lived next door to her.
The story above is obviously expected, no surprise. Here’s the most interesting part. They elected to recieve the 20 year payout instead of lump sum. They would pickup the checks at the post office every month or whatever the cadence was. Eventually the fricking post office people were asking them for money! Amazing!
You don’t need to win a lottery to do that, real estate is downright cheap in the southern Appalachians so long as you avoid the resort areas. Eastern TN, western NC, upstate SC, northern GA. If you’re not too proud to live in a doublewide you could get several acres and a place to live for $50K give or take. Of course the economy isn’t great so you’d need to be retired or derive your income by some means not dependent upon physical location.
Sorry, I forgot topaste a link. :)

Don’t spend it all in one place!
