When people find out I am a political reporter, they usually have only one question for me: "Donald Trump can't really win this thing, can he?" My answer is always the same these days: Absolutely he can.
The reason is simple: Trump is the national front-runner, yes, but he is also ahead in a two key early states -- New Hampshire and South Carolina -- and a strong second in Iowa, the state that kicks the whole presidential process off on Feb. 1.
Could he totally collapse from that position? Sure. As we know from recent history, voters in Iowa and New Hampshire don't start paying all that close attention to the race until about 30 days or so out from the actual vote -- meaning that polling on what the race looks like tends to be an inexact science.
But the fact that Trump is ahead nationally and that he is running first or second in Iowa and New Hampshire is meaningful, argues Sam Wang over at the Princeton Election Consortium.
Wang's argument is that based on recent electoral history and where Trump stands in polling today, the real estate billionaire actually has a very good chance at being the Republican nominee. Look at where the past nominees in each party were at this time in national, Iowa and New Hampshire polling:

“Oh, and for the record, slamming Vera Coking as being “greedy” is the same tactic that liberals use. It has no bearing on her property rights.”
For the record asking 5 million for a property that had a value at auction of 530K looks like greed. It wasn’t about her property rights - proof is the inflated price.
If you weren’t such a hysterical Trump fanatic you may not have missed the post where I admitted being wrong about Vera Coking and Trump..lol
The bottom line here is that the Kelo decision was dead wrong. It sets a very dangerous precedent which jeopardizes property rights. Yet Donald Trump supports that decision 100%. Think about that for a moment. Donald Trump is 100% in agreement with government taking property away from one person (at the point of a gun) and giving that property to someone else. There is nothing at all 'Conservative' about that. And there is nothing at all 'Conservative' about any person supporting such a person.
You won’t believe Trump when he says he supports tyrannical policies so I have no illusions that you will believe.
Blah, blah....whatever how about you prove that Trump isn’t going to trample on the constitution and grow the federal government.
No. Being greedy by asking an inflated price means it wasn’t about property rights. Follow the logic.
You were wrong, your statement was a lie. Don’t take it out on me.
Trump on the other hand does not respect her right to property. He supports a policy where someone (e.g. Donald Trump) should be able to influence government to take property away from someone else and sell it to them. It is pure unadulterated fascism. It is no different than turning ownership of a factory over to whichever industrialist can crank out the most Me-109 fighters each month.
Again, the Kelo decision is not a conservative position. Yet it is one that Donald Trump embraces 100%. So again, how do you reconcile support of Kelo with Conservatism?

I don’t believe that the current battle is conservative vs liberal or democrat vs republican. I believe it is elitist vs we-the-people. This might help;

Eminent domain is not a deal breaker in the current cycle. 19 trillion in debt is, corporate inversion is, trade deficits are, illegal immigration is, muslim extremism is, elitism is. Trump is practically the only one talking about things like the debt and especially corporate inversion. Those are the issues that in the short term need to be fixed, right now, any perceived problems with eminent domain do not.
NO I am not wrong.I am right now. Somebody provided a good post that changed my mind. This is called intellectual honesty...it enables you to admit when you are wrong. Unfortunately, all too many Trump supporters lack such a quality.
All Trump has done is talk. His rhetoric merely appeals to the emotion. How does a conservative conclude that Trump is a statesmen through “Your a loser”. What evidence beyond Trump telling you what you want to hear do you have that anything is going to be done about the problems you mentioned.
How is he a totalitarian? Give some examples - otherwise it’s just name calling.
But fascism is. Besides, I am not discussing eminent domain. I am discussing the confiscation of private property by government and then ceding that property over to another private entity - something that Donald Trump supports 100%.
As for the remaining points you list (other than immigration), I do not see anything in Donald Trump that indicates he will do anything different. He already has a long history of using his clout to influence local government for his personal benefit. And this is exactly the type of elitism that I abhor.
Corporate inversion is addressed in his position paper and Trump and Carl Icahn are already rolling on this. 2.2+ trillion of real, not printed, money back into out economy - think about it.

Trade reform

Those two items alone will have a tremendous effect. Trump is practically the only candidate addressing these issues.
Ping to 96.
What part of fascism are you not getting here? Donald Trump 100% supports the Kelo decision. Do you?
It is just my opinion that Trump would have totalitarian policies because his only reason for running for.president is.his attraction to the power.of the office. There is no evidence to the contrary. Every thing that he has said and done points to this end.
Hmmm there were some things conveniently missing from your post.
