In Iowa, Trump intensifies ‘birther’ attack against Cruz
ABC ^ | 1/9/16 | Staff

Donald Trump intensified his criticism of Ted Cruz at two Iowa campaign rallies on Saturday, urging voters to reject the Texas senator by saying his Canadian birth raises serious questions about his eligibility to become president.

"He was born in Canada. I guess his parents voted in Canada," Trump said at an afternoon rally in Clear Lake. "So if you were born in Canada, immediately it's a little bit of a problem."

Trump added: "You cannot put somebody there that's gonna go in ... he's going to be immediately sued."

Earlier Saturday, Trump said at a rally in Ottumwa that Cruz "has to straighten out his problems," a veiled reference to the so-called "birther" issue. But he declined to elaborate further, saying, "We'll discuss that later."

Cruz, however, is a naturally-born U.S. citizen, and most legal experts agree that he is qualified to be commander-in-chief.

But recently, he has had to aggressively push back on questions pushed from Trump about his eligibility for the presidency. He renounced his dual Canadian citizenship in 2014, and on Friday, Cruz's campaign shared with the conservative website Breitbart a copy of his mother's birth certificate showing her born in the United States.

Cruz parents were registered as Canadian voters. Proof is needed whether mother was citizen at the time of birth of comrade.

Uh huh sure. That’s why the Democrat from florida has already declared he will file a lawsuit if Cruz is chosen. Trump is right. This must be settled now. Frankly I do not think Cruz is eligible because of the reasons for the wording chosen by the Founding fathers.

RC one. If he was a natural born American citizen, how was he born into Canadian citizenship?

The same way Trump was born into British nationality. It's a matter of the laws of the foreign jurisdiction, and nothing to do with our laws and practice.

At least Cruz has renounced his Canadian nationality. When did Trump renounce his British nationality?

Not law.

Also, it is not understood that Romney could run for President. There was a question. He withdraw before it got anywhere.

I have posted several times the law review article from a highly regarded person at the time.

He had a conclusion. He also indicated it is not settled law. He indicated what would have to happen for it to be settled law.

I suspect that after the next debate Rump will start whining that there are too many debates and he won’t take part in any more.

Reminds me of a truck driver i hired many years ago, i swear the guy had to go to court almost at least once a week, had custody lawsuits and other stuff. He was so distracted one day on his cell phone he accidentally because of the cell phone and attorney distraction he drove a concrete mixer right over a brand new mustang that squeezed in on the right at a stoplight.

Is there a single person who will swea
r Cruz won’t be distracted by nbc lawsuits?

Becsuse it won’t go away, they won’t settle at all no matter how big the print on the wwb page, the billboard or even the blimp saying Cruze is a citizen.

I didn't leave it out. I said Tribe said it was not settled law but he has an opinion.

That's all he can have.

That's all Levin can have.

That's all anyone can have at this point because IT IS NOT SETTLED LAW.

You didn't state his opinion. I just wanted to help.

There are only 9 people in the entire United States that can resolve this.
They will not get involved though unless a suit is brought forth by someone with standing, and the only person that will be is the Democrat candidate.
I find it highly unlikely that would happen.

Have a nice day.

Reagan never said Poppy Bush wasn't constitutionally qualified to be president.

I watched the entire speech. Trump didn't say it about Cruz either.

Trump won’t spare him.

*********
Fortunately Cruz has infinitely more wisdom. So, he’ll “spare” Donald, because Trump does sit on the Rino’s-— but Cruz will finish him off after SC.

You nailed it. Dewhurst threw every dirty lie he could concoct against Cruz.
I just remember these Scriptures:

“No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every word that is raised against you in judgment, will be judged of God.”

“God works all things together for good to those who love God, and are called according to His purpose.”

BULL! Your unlawful candidat threw the first stones. He told the world tht he did not trust Trump or Carson with nuclear weapons. He alsso has attacked Trump for flying home to spend time with his family sounding like a jealous simpleton towards class. He also behind closed doors said he was only playing cool and hugging Trump until the time was ripe to strike. Cruz is just an underhanded slick tongued lawyer-lifetime politician. He will NOT get my vote.

I remember the last election and (hope the Trumpers are true to themselves) when Newt Gingrich attempted to point out Romney’s Achilles heel which would be optimized by the DEMS and was, his wealth and handling of previous business negatives......OMG, the MSM, Fox GOPe elites, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Brit Hume, hundreds of Freepers and lets not forget Brother Love Santorum all accused him successfully, of “GOING negative.” So would you all agree that Trump is going negative?

Cruz was born a Canadian and U.S. citizen. He can not be a natural born citizen of both, or the clause would not have been put in the Constitution. Which country is he a natural born citizen of ?

Cruz’s duplicity hurts, doesn’t it! Thank God there is Trump to tell it like it is!

I watched the entire speech. Trump didn't say it about Cruz either.

And nowhere in his speech yesterday did Obama say he wanted to take guns from the hands of lawful owners. But is there any doubt that's what he means? Same with Trump.

It'll be hard for Cruz to take Trump apart on something he really doesn't have.
