A Muslim woman was escorted out of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump's rally in South Carolina on Friday after she stood up in silent protest.
Rose Hamid, a 56-year-old flight attendant, was sitting in the stands behind Trump, according to CNN, when the billionaire suggested Syrian refugees fleeing a civil war were affiliated with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Hamid, who was wearing a hijab, did not say anything while Trump spoke, according to CNN. However, Trump supporters called attention to her and Marty Rosenbluth, the man sitting next to her who also stood up.
The two were wearing stars resembling those worn by Jews during the Holocaust.
Security escorted the two out as Trump supporters booed and yelled "get out."
According to Hamid, one person shouted, "You have a bomb, you have a bomb," CNN reported.
"The ugliness really came out fast and that's really scary," she told CNN after she was escorted out of the venue.
Hamid added that several people around her held her hand and said "sorry" as she was forced to leave.
"There is a hatred against us that is unbelievable," Trump said after Hamid was ejected. "It's their hatred, not our hatred."
Hamid told CNN before the event that she didn't plan to disrupt the event, but wanted to give Trump's supporters some insight as to what Muslims are like.
"I figured that most Trump supporters probably never met a Muslim, so I figured that I'd give them the opportunity to meet one" she said. "I really don't plan on saying anything. I don't want to be disrespectful but if he says something that I feel needs answering I might - we'll see what strikes me.
"People don't have a chance to see anything other than the Muslims they see on TV," she added, talking about the footage of terrorists.
Unless one is comatose, many if not most people have met muslims. They are running many small businesses in this country. They then send the money to terrorists. BTW, who thinks it a good idea to have a middle-aged, hijab wearing muslim as a stewardess?
The lefties are doing their darnedest to derail him.
First off, I’d like to know what airline this agitator works for so that I can avoid it.
Secondly, she wasn’t there to learn - she was there to disrupt a private function. [IMO, If there were tickets sold or issued by the campaign, it is essentially a private function]
More liberal psy-ops, just like they tried to do with clock-boy.
She’s the same character that won’t question what’s going on in her local Mosque, will never criticize the thugs trying to brain-wash Muslim youth, and will never discuss the idea of violence existing within the Quran. But she would be willing to object to Trump? It just demonstrates the naive character of these people.
Was she carrying a confederate flag or something?
If I was flying, and found the hijab-wearing Rosie as an attendant on my flight....I would NOT get on the flight.
“The two were wearing stars resembling those worn by Jews during the Holocaust.”
Why don’t they change the title to read “Protesters shamefully attempting to piggyback on the Jewish Holocaust atrocities ejected”?
anyone can buy a ticket. that makes it a public function.
I guess it would depend on what’s printed on the ticket as far as terms and conditions go.
When you go looking for a.fight, don’t go crying when you get your ass kicked.
Also, it says she met with CNN before the event. So it was all staged with the help of CNN.
fyi for everyone, please post elsewhere also..
rose hamid in an 1997 article is an activist that began wearing a hijab against airline regs, got fired, and went to court about it. she is an activist, so she was there to make a scene.
rose hamid appears to be active in the muslim community, trying to be a “good” image of a muslim woman - do some searches on her name.
the other person, marty rosenbluth, is an immigration activist and lawyer from north carolina.
She's free to protest outside of the venue in accordance with local ordinances.
Does Merkel need one more?
I would have handed her a bacon burger.
They need better security...If she was wearing a burqa she could well have had numerous explosives hidden...
“There is a hatred against us that is unbelievable,” Trump said after Hamid was ejected. “It’s their hatred, not our hatred.”
Good.
