Under assault from Donald Trump, Ted Cruz offered something of a thinly veiled contrast Friday....
Cruz, in the middle of an intense 28-county bus tour, has been arguing that he is out working the GOP field on the ground as they rely on "slick Hollywood TV ads."
Asked by reporters if he had much faith in the ground game of a Trump, Cruz mocked his opulence.
"I feel confident that I'm never going to have a plane with my name on it," he said at a church. "How do you run a grassroots campaign? It's very time intensive. It's labor intensive. You don't do it sitting back in the easy chair. You don't do it from a TV studio in Manhattan."
Cruz has consistently poked fun at Trump's wealth, telling a late night host that he would like Trump to write his campaign a large check and joking in a GOP debate that the New York builder should personally pay for a wall on the Mexico border.
However, the jokes at Trump's expense come after the billionaire businessman's has spent significant airtime ribbing Cruz over his Canadian birthplace and whether it jeopardizes his eligibility to be president. Constitutional scholars have said Cruz's citizenship will not be an issue.

Cruz is never getting a plane, period.
Buy him a little drone to play with.
Trump will be riding AF1.
Well then pull your panties out of your crack, they're even.
Gotta respect Commrade Cruz for his honesty
Big bad airplanes are for evil capitalists, right?
He will never fly in AF1.
TRUMP!!
“Public brand”, lol.
His wife said that their “public brand” is going to be in American households soon.
Not in this one. Let her go hunt up some suckers.
I believe that contrary to the bickering and fighting among supporters, these two guys are probably getting along pretty well.
“Well, I think that was the case previously. But now that Cruz is beginning to feel the knives in his back, he might just want to change partners. I know that I, for one, have left Cruzâ former dance partner.”
If they each want to win, then the break-up is inevitable. They might want to clear the floor of other contenders first, though.
Is this Rafael trying to be funny? Tell him not to quit his day job. I am not sure what that is exactly, but it appears to involve a lot of talking and no action.
Yikes.
Step away from the keyboard. Take a short walk in the fresh air. Then come on back. Seriously.
Cruz isn’t going to hitch himself to some progressive. He knows it would be career suicide.
Besides, he’s in this to win. Conservatives have a golden opportunity, and I’m not going to blow it by getting behind some reality show host.
Ted Cruz on Trump: I’ll never have ‘a plane with my name on it’
Because You DIDN’T BUILD THAT Teddy?
Leave the Big Planes to the Big Boys
Its obvious they like each other.
On the other hand, they’re running against each other.
As long as the shots they take are rooted in truth, its childishly naive to get angry when they campaign against one another.
Nah, He can try for PM of Canada .
Keep poking Teddy.
Cruz: I’ll never have a plane with my name on it.
No, and you’ll never tackle our nations problems with the bold solutions Trump will. Here’s just a sampling of issues that are now in the mainstream of political discourse which we wouldn’t even be debating if Trump hadn’t entered the race -
Building a border wall, ending birthright citizenship, deportation of all illegals, fixing our 400 billion dollar trade deficit with China
Trump thinks big.

Yeah, what did Trump say a few months ago concerning Cruz’s eligibility? “He’s in fine shape.”
So now, he knows he can’t take Cruz on intellectually or he would get shredded, so he’s throwing around a little doubt to see if the media will do it for him. Lying coward.
And for the record, I don’t begrudge anyone his hard-earned fortune. But don’t expect me to hoot and clap in simple-minded awe over flashiness and ostentation. You want a plane? Fine, more power to you. You need to have your name on it? You have an ego problem.
And for the record, that Manhattan place where Trump lives has the most godawful tasteless decor. Gold bathroom fixtures...the upscale version of the velvet Elvis painting.
Has nothing to do with money, and everything to do with showiness and egotism.
It isn’t the plane. It’s the need to have the name on it.
By these comments Cruz knows he is in real trouble. If IA is locked up he never would have said any of this. Surely, it will not gain him a single vote in NH. Besides, Trump is well know all over the country, while Cruz has been little more than a clip on the news and ads from his PAC masters.
Like the Trump supporters on FR, promoting abortion and Obamacare, and mocking Christianity?
