Cologne (Germany) (AFP) - When asylum seeker Asim Vllaznim heard about the New Year's Eve spate of sexual attacks in Germany, blamed on a crowd of migrants, he says his spirits fell.
"Our first reaction was: now the Germans will hate us," said the 32-year-old Kosovar, sitting with his family in their room at a migrant shelter in the western city of Cologne.
The city's ugly mob violence -- including groping, other assaults, thefts and two reported rapes -- has inflamed public opinion already strained by the influx of a record 1.1 million refugees and irregular migrants last year.
Germany has been shocked by reports of fearful women running the gauntlet in a drunken and aggressive crowd of men, described by witnesses as being of Arab and North African appearance.

There’s that “backlash” word again.
Why? It’s not like the gutless males there would ever do something violent like post a twitter hashtag. They lack the sack.
Migrants fear backlash - GOOD!
Unless you openly and frequently denounce it then you are complicit. You should fear it if you tacitly condone it. I have no sympathy.

Don’t worry. the cowards in Germany have more than enough sympathy to replace yours.
They must also turn in those who they know to be planning or participating in such events.
Hand wringing and lamenting is not enough.

In a saner would they would expect backlash with certainty.

He'd actually get more sympathy if he had said:
"Our first reaction was: those bastards that sexually assaulted those German women need to be arrested and in jail!"
He'd get some sympathy from me, but not a lot. But it would be a start--for a change!
This is such an insipidly route PC article that we knew just had to be coming after the New Year’s Eve assaults. It didn’t even need to be written — just pulled from the template file. Its both amusing and horrifying at the same time.
