Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% has repeatedly defended his eligibility to be president this week, but wondering whether his Canadian birthplace would prevent him from running for the office has been on his mind since at least childhood, a classmate of his tells CNN.

This may be a much different perspective than you’re used to hearing on the issue of foreign citizenship. Not everyone in the world is anti-American. I count myself among that rather small minority of people who, while not American born nor American residents, admire the history and the culture of the United States, and believe in its special place in the world as something ordained by God.
You don’t have to be American to believe any of that.
I don’t have the right or even the chance to run for office in your country. But I’m willing to bet that I would make a more effective political leader than three quarters of the people you have legally elected. That’s not because I think I have special abilities. It is because I think your country has special qualities, and a special place in history. As long as Ted Cruz believes that too, these other things mean nothing — even if he once felt like he was a dual citizen or whatever, the real question is what he thinks of America — thinking positively about some other country as well is no character flaw nor necessarily a lapse of good judgement. (as long as it’s not Germany, just kidding)

But Ted Cruz is also a birthright citizen and has every right to run for the office of President.
This topic is silly, brilliant politics, but silly.
Ted had a six day bus tour of Iowa that was supposed to a victory lap and it’s turned into a cluster-f and media circus. If it’s not reporters asking him about being Canadian, it’s King Corn trolling him on ethanol.
I still believe Cruz is going to win Iowa, but all of this will hurt him further down the line. I just think some folks don’t want to vote for a man born in another country, no matter how good he is.

Yes, many of here are “literally members of creepy religion cults”...such as Christianity and Judaism. And I have a lot of patience but I have grown tired of the continuous trolling people such as yourself are doing. I am tired of the besmirching of Christian doctrine, beliefs, practices and morality.
You should, at least, attempt to remember that this is a site that espouses our Judeo-Christian heritage, our Constitutional Republican form of government and morality.

In other words, Cruz habitually and routinely referred to himself as an American. In one instance his companion, not Cruz, made a reference to a border crossing official that Cruz was a "dual citizen". We don't even know whether Cruz even heard the remark, or made much of it if he did.
I do know that the concept expressed here: "I pointed him to and said he was a dual citizen." does NOT equate to anything of consequence, and it is certainly does not equate to Ted Cruz acknowledging dual citizenship. All it confirms is that Lubetsky acknowledged Cruz's dual citizenship
Of course we all know now that Cruz did indeed hold dual citizenship. Big deal.
In other news, it has been discovered that coal miners sweat during their shifts.
So I guess the question is, how did Lubetsky know Cruz was a dual citizen and yet Cruz-- supposedly sitting there ignorant, not hearing anything his buddy is saying-- did not?

Cruz’s parents were in Canada for 8 years. There’s no proof yet of her birth certificate, and some allege she renounced her U.S. citizenship.
This is a serious issue and a serious challenge.
The process by which a child of citizen parents becomes a citizen of the U.S. is NATURALIZATION.
There’s a difference between natural born and naturalization. Those naturalized are NOT eligible to become president.
