The Los Angeles County district attorney has declined to bring criminal charges against comedian Bill Cosby stemming from sexual assault allegations by two women over separate incidents, one dating back to 1965 and the other to 2008, prosecutors said on Wednesday.
The district attorney, Jackie Lacey, determined prosecution was barred in the earlier case by the statute of limitations and in the latter case by insufficient evidence for a felony charge and the statute of limitations for misdemeanors, her office said in a statement.

Horrible Outrageous decision. Cosby got away with this all these years because of his celebrity. His wife smiles, and she knows what evil lurk’s inside her man. She is just a money grubbing witch.
These women deserve their day in court. I hope the feminazis fire the prosecutor.
Good. This situation stinks. Bill Cosby stepped off the liberal plantation and has been outspoken about the value of family, education, and so on. Plus, he is rich. This makes him a target for money-loving race baiters.
If there were evidence, that would be one thing. But there isn’t.
I agree it’s a travesty, but how would a prosecutor make that case? The evidence doesn’t exist.

“If there were evidence, that would be one thing. But there isnât.”
On the contrary, there was evidence, but the L.A. prosecutors refused to look at the evidence until the statute of limitations had already expired. I used to work with some of the women who also worked at the Playboy Mansion 35 to 40 years ago, and they told me at the time Bill Cosby was a dangerous creep and they didn’t like to be there when Bill Cosby was around. These revelations decades later fit in precisely with how they expressed their concerns about him 35-40 years ago.
“Horrible Outrageous decision.”
“Prosecutors said they were unable to substantiate that Cosby or his accuser attended the party in question, nor could they corroborate her account with a friend whom the woman identified as a potential witness. “
“On the contrary, there was evidence, but the L.A. prosecutors refused to look at the evidence until the statute of limitations had already expired. “
Care to enlighten us as to the evidence of the 2008 ‘attack’?
“THE State PA Should charge Cosby and the LA City PA thsrefusedto do his Duty,”
Insofar as a statute of limitations is applicable, no current prosecutor will have discretion to prosecute such a case. The only option left is to prosecute any allegations whose stature of limitations has not expired. This L.A. prosecutor claims there was insufficient evidence to move forward on the single allegation in which the statute of limitations has not expired. Critics will have to focus on their attention on that single decision to see if it stands up to scrutiny.
“Care to enlighten us as to the evidence of the 2008 âattackâ?
The incident mentioned in the article I had in mind was: “Los Angeles County prosecutors, citing the statute of limitations, previously declined to bring a criminal case in connection with a woman who reported she was molested at age 15 by Cosby at the Playboy Mansion in 1974.” Bill Cosby had a bad reputation among the Playmates at the
Playboy Mansion back then. They were concerned at how Bill Cosby appeared to be untouchable after these incidents, and prosecutors would not pursue such complaints at the time.
Recently, Bill Cosby has been recorded by police investigators confessed his perverted extra-marital sexual activities and his use of drugs to incapacitate the women in these sexual activities, so it is now a matter of record that he is in the habit of engaging in such sexual activities. Bill Cosby defends these sexual activities by trying to claim they wee consensual or did not take place at all. Consequently, there is his own admissions in evidence to support allegations of his sexual activities. What remains to be proven are the individual cases and whether or not each of those cases did or did not involve the informed consent of the women who are making the allegations.
I admit I haven’t been following this much. It doesn’t matter what people claim, nor whether you believe them or not. What matters to the DA is what he/she can prove. So in that light it comes down to a discussion/argument on perspective and judgement. Is there enough physical evidence and credible testimony to counter whatever defense he could put up? Is a “beyond reasonable doubt” outcome likely? DA may have looked at what he/she had in-hand and said it’s just not close enough to a yes to make it worth pursuing - yet.
Name one married man who ‘hung out’ at the Playboy Mansion who wasn’t a ‘creep’.
What was a 15 year old girl doing ‘hanging out’ at the Playboy Mansion ?
I wish people would stop pushing the myth of Cosby being some sort of conservative hero. Cosby was and remains a vocal supporter of Obama, very much on "the liberal plantation." Even Jesse Jackson occasionally tells black youth to pull up their pants, stay in school, and stop running in gangs. That's about the extent of Cosby's "conservatism."
Exactly.
Cosby will never be found guilty.
Being a wealthy celebrity helps immunize you against conviction for crimes that would put the rest of us away for life. Being able to play the race card while a celebrity could help even more. Watch Cosby's legal team accuse the DA Office of being "racists trying to use the legal system to lynch a black man."
True, but that is not what the other poster said.
I don't think anyone is claiming Cosby is a hard core conservative.
