However, I think the tears were real, probably more from frustration at being on the losing end of this argument and seeing that clearly. That also explains the yelling and other demagoguery in the presser. More to the point, there isnât much gained in trying to litigate the opposite, especially for prospective presidential nominees. Trump takes the best political tack â allowing for legitimate motivation while opposing the policies and the ideology behind it.

Because Lord knows, that's what we need--more Democrats!
Rinse and Repeat of ROnald Reagan. He ALSO won millions of democrats.
Well, Cruz isn't evil. His dad's Dominionism and Ted's focus on Evangelicals does concern me in that being painted as a right wing religious type doesn't serve you well in a general.
Romney, of course, was an awful candidate but we've been served up terrible candidates for quite a while.
Interesting that we'd have someone that supported Bill Clinton want to come to this web site at all. You would think it would be like garlic to a vampire. Other than that, I can't really comment on what she said without seeing her posts.
It would be nice if Trump & Cruz supporters could just get along...but.............once the insults start flying.....
That was all good stuff in hindsight. I think we (and the media) have been wallowing in so much politically correct criticism that it sounds strange to hear the unvarnished truth about every topic. A lot of people here get it now although some do not. A lot of the media is still clueless and Trump is living in their heads rent free. But there may come a time when Trump gets tired or something (I admit low probability) and Cruz steps in having had Trump pave the way for him.
Look where most come from. Primary source is “Though shall not speak truth of my candidate when he screwith you pooch royally”, while demanding the other guy is ‘vetted’.
Cruz is certainly not even close to being evil. Problem is, he will not be able to bring congress along. He has not made any friends there.
And the country can not wait much longer to make a 180 degree turn. Trump has a better chance to get the Wall built. Only he knows how to get Mexico to pay for it. He will not even need congress on that issue.
Trump is lying he really doesn’t believe he means well.
I don’t see anything wrong with Obama and Boenher weeping rivers of tears. Hillary too. (The equivalent for Bernie Sanders is picking his nose.)
A little cayenne rubbed in or even near the eyes will sincerely make you cry.
Another ‘no matter what’ Romneybot that still defends him so it’s not a shock.
I kind of predicted that if Trump though he had a pretty good shot at it, he would start backing off on his rhetoric and start sounding like a politician. I think some of the Trump enthusiasm will fade. But I’ve been wrong before. In fact my user name was based on thinking Ken Star had the goods to take down Clinton. So I started FR in the predictive hole.
Trump is an outsider and certainly not perfect. I believe he could get more done than Ted Cruz and has broader appeal in the general.
Cruz is certainly an outstanding conservative who would be a good president. I'm very concerned that he doesn't have the inspirational charm needed to win people over. He's got a tough road to hoe in that he would be the responsible adult campaigning against a candidate who wants to give you free crap for life. He's also very dependent on his evangelical base which doesn't yield a big enough tent to win a general (sadly we know our culture is full of rot).
AT age 69 anything is possible. I do not think Trump quits. He did not quit after suffering 4 business failures. He doubled down. His entire life is never give up! He has given up unimaginable luxurious life for the rigors of daily travel all over the country to hold rallies. I do not see him getting tired. But like I said, he could suffer a health setback from all this stress.
And how do you think Trump can? Thats not a slam on Trump. Thats a reality. They hate him as much as Cruz. So how is Don going to perform the miracle Ted cannot with the GOPDNC aligned against him?
Same same. The argument is a wash.
Kinda speaks to the opposite of your actions slamming Cruz serially on various threads. So which should I believe to be true?
Ronald Reagan won those Democrats because of his conservatism. But they’re dead and gone. Trump is a big government statist whose progressivism is interesting to progressive Democrats, but in the end they’ll go for Sanders or Hillary.
It’s a fantasy, and I wonder if there was any other primary season when Freepers wanted their candidate to appeal to Democrats.
That’s right
But on the same thread...comedy gold!
Go Mitt GO!
From my 55 years of political junkie experience, I can confidently posit, the GOPe does not hate Trump. Because he has seldom initiates an attack without being attacked first. Very very few senators and house reps, who are NOT running for president have attacked Trump. Whereas Ted Cruz can’t get 3 senators to back him on critical bills.
I will also put some weight on Trump’s lifelong experience as a businessman. No businessman achieves multi-Billion dollar net worth without knowing how to get along with lots and lots of people. He is a super salesman.
I sense a disturbance in the Trump.
