Trump is an outsider and certainly not perfect. I believe he could get more done than Ted Cruz and has broader appeal in the general.
Cruz is certainly an outstanding conservative who would be a good president. I'm very concerned that he doesn't have the inspirational charm needed to win people over. He's got a tough road to hoe in that he would be the responsible adult campaigning against a candidate who wants to give you free crap for life. He's also very dependent on his evangelical base which doesn't yield a big enough tent to win a general (sadly we know our culture is full of rot).
