Jeb Bush's still-sputtering presidential campaign was forced to retract an embarrassing mistake by the former governor on Monday, saying Bush was 'mistaken' that he had received a 'statesman of the year' award from the National Rifle Association.
The NRA, the nation's most powerful gun lobby, has no such award although Bush has told the story multiple times on social media and on the campaign trail. He once referred to himself in a now-deleted Twitter post as 'former NRA statesman of the year.'
The former governor did speak at the group's annual meeting in Orlando in 2003 - but his campaign also had to retract Bush's claim that he was given a rifle by then-NRA president Charlton Heston at that 2003 event.

I know that most of us are not as busy as Jeb or Hillary.
But I think even they should remember if events such as receiving a gun from Charlton Heston or being under gunfire
from insurgents in Bosina occurred or not.
He looks depressed in that picture. Just what we need- a president on antidepressants. On second look he looks stood up against the wall.
Well, sure he did - as long as NRA stands for Never Run Again.

You're right, because most of us don't live in a politicians fantasy world where money grows on trees, people exist only to serve them, you are NEVER wrong, lies only matter if you are caught ... etc.
This is his mental version of being on tippy-toes at the first debate. He is a very small, small man if he needs to fluff up his height and resume’ like this. But hey, I live in ILL-ANNOY where the ILL-ANNOY GOPe has endorsed this small, small man.

I’m older than Jeb and I’m pretty damned sure I’d remember something like that...
His Bush family dynamics must have a lot to do with how he presents himself; one of four boys, not the favored first born,the competition between them must have been fierce, a sick/dying baby sister, and later on another sister, a very powerful mother,and a larger than life, mostly absent father.
He must have had to stand on his tippy toes just to be heard.
He’s not presidential material but at least now his parents can recognize him.He should quit but he never will until the end.
No way - making Jeb! NRA salesman of the year would put him the same class as Obama.
Jeb! is a piker compared to Obama’s ability to sell guns..
Jeb needs to stop that or he’ll wind up with nostrils like Leon Spinks.
